The charging thing was a callback to raditz when Goku had to hold off raditz as piccolo charged the special beam cannon .. that's why piccolo said "did.. you just hold a grudge??"

Remember when Popo was at the hospital with Goku said “Except this season… you” He was talking to Krillin knowing he was gonna die. The end of this episode after Krillin dies he said “called it” 😂 Also, Goku gets a little revenge on Piccolo for letting him get beat up by Raditz and taking his time charging the Special Beam Cannon and singing “I’m charging my attack” So Goku let Piccolo get beat up by Frieza while he forms the Spirit Bomb and singing the same song.

Nick has always seemed like a good sort, I've seen a lot of people who do reactions to this series say that he's greeted them at some point and said some kind words. He's a really big part of the show, of the different main characters he voices Vegeta, Piccolo, and Krillin, and he also does various different secondary characters, like Master Roshi, Mr. Popo, Shenron (Earth's dragon), etc.
