I dunno, a lot of folks tend to get taken down rather easily when hit in the Solar Plexus. I feel Recoome got caught off guard since he DID tank a lot of hits that made even Vegeta hesitant. Plus, the scenario in this game does kinda make it seem like you're fighting him fresh and unharmed. And Goku(Mid) is an oddity to me along with every other one that can use Spirit Bomb. Because of his "Share your energy with me!" ability, he can effectively use the largest and one of the most powerful moves in the game due to its ability to stack damage massively, yet they made it so Devilman's Devilmite Beam actually has to take Good and Evil alignments into account for damage output(based on %, but still) even though Gohan is clearly seen as able to deflect the mighty ball away right from the get-go. I'd call it a running gag at this point, but I cannot think of any game where it actually deals lesser damage on good folk, where as if any game would take it into consideration, it might've been this one. So, Tidbit time: Turles got nerfed in BT3 compared to BT2. His Kill Diver lacks the homing it used to have, and Fruit of the Tree of Might doesn't replenish a small chunk of his health(I get that it's no Sensu Bean, but come on). It makes a rather average character out of what was otherwise a rather unique and tough to beat pick prior... The AI may have been rather lax about it, but Recoome is actually one of the better ki barrage characters in this game(up to 12 shots each time if I recall). If you just happen to catch someone off guard from behind(especially a giant or large character you can flinch) and launch regular ki shots, you can hit pretty frequently and consistently before finishing off with Eraser Gun or the Ki Barrage Special(his is actually one of the more accurate and decently damaging ones in the game too) for style points. I do also believe his Ultra Fighting Bomber has one of the largest explosion ranges for that matter. Burter's double energy ball is sadly easily broken by most other beam and ball attacks meant to clash, but is otherwise a fairly broad attack in itself(17, I believe, is the only other character to have such a move aside from Garlic Jr's Ultimate which launches 3 instead). It should beat Devilman's Spear, 16's Rocket Punch, Super Garlic Jr.'s dark "beam", Rock Throws, and ki barrages in general. I cannot for the life of me remember if it beats thin ki attacks(Dodonpa for example) or not. Also, he's fun to put pressure on foes with his rapid flurry of melee strikes(the fastest one, even beating Gogeta SS4!), but sadly the limited moveset with his alternate blows makes him more predictable than most, so try not to catch yourself going braindead while enthralled with your own speed and actually pace yourself on the fisticuffs before an opponent does it for you... I do find it funny that his empowered dash and Rush Special are barely any faster than his regular dashing speed. Sure, he maneuvers better than half the roster at default, but it makes his overall speed look a lot less impressive... :T Bardock, as you saw here, normally gains +1 to flinch resistance when at Max Power. You can give him another +1 to it when combined with Saiyan Soul(the fact that his costs 1 B-point less than usual is a plus since it makes it easier to mix both), which easily lets the old timer overwhelm most and keep up well with even the most powerful characters as by this point it takes heavy hitters to make him back off. The fact that both his damage and defense is a tad above average to begin with is icing on the cake. Easily one of my favorites. Freeza Soldier... Egh... Ranty talk with this one... I find it _much_ more enjoyable to play as *default* Mr. Satan than this. Kinda slow and weak in general, but... Specials are basically a one-handed beam and a two-handed beam that is sliiiiightly thicker and hits harder; Good grief, they even have the exact same name, I don't get why they didn't give him a Rush or a basic barrage at least... By the way, the one-handed beam CAN clash despite looking about as robust as a Dodonpa, which does at least gives one a rather odd pleasure when overpowering a fully charged Goku(Mid) Spirit Bomb or Great Ape Baby's Ultimate with the smallest beam in the game. The Ultimate, as funny as it is for a glorified tackle than you can control, deals some damage to you in turn... I would say that Sleep makes up for it, but this guy is one of the few with the slower Sleep recovery animations(about 5 seconds of not moving), and no way to protect himself while doing it; You'd have to switch him out, have someone use a move that can cause an opponent to lose sight of a target, hide, and then switch him back in the hopes that you can recover even more without being spotted. Appule just has one thing I feel worth noting; His Ultimate, despite being a cinematic energy ball, has a slight notable delay before going off. If you're trying to counter a ranged Special or Ultimate, keep in mind that the foe's ability WILL continue to move towards you at its regular speed during this delay, which can result in you being hit more often than not unless you really kept your distance. Likewise, this also means that if you shot him first, and someone makes that mistake, they will likely be punished for it. Safer to counter with Energy Wave, basically. Cui... Is surprisingly stubborn if you happen to give him the item that lowers B-abilities cost by one as this lowers his False Courage to 1 and Sleep to 2, making it easier to combine both and allow yourself some leeway to outlast a foe... In regards to False Courage itself, it effectively grants all users immunity to flinching from virtually all sources on top of better Defense in exchange for Melee power, with some exceptions: Blinds still work on those normally vulnerable to begin with, grabs and Rush Specials/Ultimates will execute as intended, Ultimates with Cinematic effects upon contact will play out as intended, and Ultimates that can cause battle damage will make them "flail" if the last hit tick isn't blocked or avoided(you'd have to be rather ballsy to take one face first even with False Courage active to be honest). Unblockable attacks still can't be blocked even when blocking during this, so don't bother... Also, interestingly, B-abilities that just call up a small explosion with the chance to hit more than once actually become more effective against those who are unflinchable as they're never pushed away or being knocked down, allowing them to take the full damage output at point blank which is greater than what would normally happen; A cheeky counter really. By the way, although Nail didn't get to participate in the battle against the Ginyu Force, what's noteworthy about him is that he is the only character with an alternate variant of the unflinchable status. His Stalling is, for all intents and purposes, the same as False Courage except that you instead just gain a boost to Ki charging while the other stats remain the same. You won't get to tank hits quite as well, but you can charge to full power faster than most without being interrupted(exceptions in mind of course) for what it's worth.

Ah, I forgot to make mention of Ginyu and Guldo since they're not fought in the story(nothing to talk about Jeice, he's just average and Space Australian). The Captain's Body Change ability is always random as to who's body(from the Namek arc) he gets, there's no set conditions as far as I can tell. In some ways, it's best if you end up on a smaller body as his stats don't really change(minus the obvious penalty) at all, so you get a smaller hit box if you're under barrage fire at least. Shame his Ultimate this time around is more a glorified last resort B-ability since you just end up nerfing yourself to restore health...I mean, sure, letting his ability work as intended in other games is broken as all hell, but I'd have at least expected more than just "here's a weak body and all you can do is melee an ki shots" such allowing access to a Special or two along with a B-ability or both just to mix it up a bit without keeping it as broken as ever. You're pretty much better off empowering his basic moveset and Specials with his Pose and Self-Harm(yes, it always costs 10% of your remaining health, but it does effectively improve all stats and remains until you decide to launch any Specials or the Ultimate). Guldo is slow overall when it comes to charged and alternate 'melee' strikes. Basically, his melee range hard swings need commitment even if you're striking often, which may get some getting used to as virtually all other characters gain better combat 'momentum', and sadly you'll find yourself relying on it often anyway given his ranged combat is mediocre(although his Ki Barrage Special is very accurate and his Ultimate is unblockable so he's not entirely helpless). Worth keeping in mind that his uppercut alternate is at least the somewhat faster one to execute, while the gut jab is slower, and the leg sweep is the slowest and easiest to block unless you managed a successful jab and try to follow it up quick.

Lani, Grant, make sure to break scenery on the stages in story mode, as that's how you get the Dragon Balls. Specifically by power dashing through them (Aka the faster dash that consumes your ki and envelops you in an aura).

I looked up the recoome thing (what race is he) and this popped up. Recoome's race Dragon Ball Members of this race are muscular large humanoids, much bigger and stronger than the common Earthling. They all seem to be lacking eyebrows. In some point in history, Frieza integrated members of this race into his Galactic Frieza Army, with the mutant Recoome being recruited in the special Ginyu Force.

The frieza race cant be timeless. In the latest broly movie, we saw how "King cold gave away his empire to frieza"... So technically frieza is at max 20 years older than vegeta...

I think it's only if you take too long on the first opponent, as Nail only really faces two members tops if I recall correctly.

Damn I remember SSJ2 Gohan being my favorite character to play as. I gave him all the good buffs and items. I even game him an item that healed him in the water, so imagine where all my fights were.

If I recall, Planet Vegeta was conquered by the Freeza forces shortly after the victory over the Tuffles, as in less than a year, and then freeza destroyed them 5 years later. So from the assimilation of Vegeta into the empire to Freeza's death was only 30 years.

Ah the Genkidama of Goku (mid)... I remember that the attack could deal 81030 damage points (PB) when you've done a lot the "Give Me Energy" move... That was so broken xD

I remember seeing an ad for the Wii version of this game on the back of Shonen Jump back in middle school. At the time, I had been getting into Dr Slump, so I was super psyched to find out Arale was in this game. I love it whenever she appears in a Dragon Ball game, like this or Origins 2.

I liked both the Budokai series and Budokai Tenkaichi series equally, I had to get use to BT tho. It won me over as a single player story fighter with as many characters as it had. But Budokai 3 is like one of the best "side view" fighter like ever made, and the one that I am like completely undefeated in..

Fun fact burter does have the highest attack speed for his combo's in this game and as a result it makes him one of the strongest characters you can play for his size category which helps when you want to unlock King Cold and you need maximum cheese to pull it off
