Dragon Ball Z: "Closing Music ("Ginyu Assault" Version)" - Rakeem's Re-Make

Before you guys crucify me with "didn't you already do this one, Rakeem?", let me start by reiterating that "Closing Music" is my favorite track from DBZ! It always has a place on the list even when it doesn't have a place on the list! With that said, I was not fully happy with my past remakes of it. I chose to go back in and make a new one. One a little bit closer to the "Ginyu Assault" version ("a little bit" is the key phrase here).
I'm deciding to keep the other version on here as well so you guys can compare and contrast to your heart's content. This version was different enough to me to warrant a whole new cover and therefore stand by itself.
Once again, thank you to Mike Smith for creating the original wonderful track! You got to my very soul with this one! It's such a beautiful, crazy, and unusual track that I'm so appreciative of, you have no idea!
If any of you ever want to make my day, just send me "Closing Music" stuff haha. It changes my entire mood! This one wasn't on the list but just because it's my favorite, it'll certainly have the other Ginyu Saga iterations in the future! Someone also requested a tranquil, meditative version too so there'll be that as well.

I think this one not only serves as a benchmark to your touch for accuracy, but it also shows your improvement at mixing. I think this one sounds MUCH closer to the original than your first go about it. It literally sounds like a different unused mix of the episode from 1998. Love how much smoother the HyperStrings feel in the first half. The lightning-fast hi-hats at 0:14 (& 0:46) deserve to be highlighted as well. They're short, but incredibly fast little blips. Plus, I also like how you can hear the percussion a bit better during the FuzzBox section in this mix. The little Pizzicato String embellishment at 02:16 is identical to the original, but I know this actually sounds more clear and crisp in your mix. It's all like new ways to appreciate the same classic.

Yeah, this is my third iteration of this track and you can hear the mix improving by massive amounts in each version. My first version is still on my Instagram and also on the "Unreleased Faulconer Productions Music" Facebook page. I haven't listened to that first mix in a looooong time 😂. Although I'll be doing other edits of it from other episodes, this is my be-all end-all of this version.

When I heard the part starting at 1:22 I was thinking "Wait, did I finally find the full version of this little bit?" Then it went back to the awesome closing theme. But man, now I wish that there was a full version of the bit between 1:22 and 1:45 Even still though, this is an awesome listen!

You've mentioned that the closing music is your favorite piece, so if you're interested, I'll share a story where it played in my head back when I was 12, in the 6th grade. It's nothing special, but the fact that I remember this from 20)+ years ago speaks to how much DBZ has meant to me over the years. This track isn't my favorite... that honor goes to Ginyu Transformation for me, but nevertheless, it fit perfectly for what happened. I'll be happy to share it, if you're interested to know.

@@RakeemsReMakes Ok, well I don't know specifically when this happened, just that it was at the end of a school day back during the time Toonami was airing reruns of the batch of episodes between the mini arc with Goku in Otherworld and Vegeta's sacrifice against Buu. I was packing my stuff, getting ready to walk to the bus that took me to school and back each day. Usually, my teacher gave me a homework assignment, which, being a typical 12-year-old kid, I absolutely hated. As the day wrapped up, and I started getting ready to leave, I noticed I hadn't been given anything to do that night, and this track kicked in, along with a narration done in Dale Kelly's voice. Kelly was always my favorite narrator and Captain Ginyu. I have nothing against anyone else who've voiced those characters, but Dale is #1 for me personally. I don't remember it word for word, but it went something like this: "it looks like another day at CSB is coming to a close, and wouldn't ya know it, Brent hasn't been given any homework... at least not yet. There's still that chance though. Will Brent make it out the door before his teacher notices, or will he be stopped before he can get on the bus and start on his way back home? Will the teacher catch him on the bus before it can get going? Stay tuned and find out!" Like I said, the exact version escapes me, but that's close. I got a lecture from my teacher the next day for not calling that lapse to her attention, and though I acted apologetic, I was saying "it was definitely worth it for a totally free night!" in my head. Also, CSB stands for California School for the Blind. I attended there for only my 6th grade year. Anyway, mini novel over... sorry for the long reply.

Over my years on KZbin, I've been told that I could never be on KZbin if I was blind. I've had idiots accuse me of lying about my blindness, then try and flip it around, play the victim and act like they were only joking when I got fed up and called them out on their stupid bs. I meant to add this to my initial reply, but got distracted, sent it, and forgot till now, so I decided to do it now while I'm thinking about it. Jeez, I guess I really am getting old lmao.
