Juliet is so cute and sweet, probably why she was such an awesome Drusilla. I always thought four words described Dru the best...Sweet and Cute, while Evil and Creepy. The dreamy way she conducted herself like a young teen, while a huge hunger for blood (Literally), while no respect or for any life to me made her by far the scariest of all the characters. As for James and Spike...all I will say is, he took a character that was supposed to be a one dimensional pure evil lapdog of Drusilla, and turned him into probably the coolest and one of the most loved characters on that show, (and far fro one dimensional). That alone should make any and every producer wondering why James is not being called in for every project they may have.

he does it in other panels correctly. It's probably hard to just break into it perfectly on the spot and with poor audio quality maybe it sounded closer at the convention. Spike's accent actually changes throughout flashbacks of Fool for Love which changes from pre-siring( more of an upper class area specific accent) to the boxer rebellion (tougher upper class trying to sound lower class) (on purpose) to present day well traveled spike's accent.

Oh, it broke my heart when they separated! And let's not even mention the horror of what he almost did in Crush . . . What IS this spell Buffy seems to cast over all the guys she meets? All the women in this show were equally drop-dead gorgeous, so that's not an excuse, Spike! I shipped him with Willow after Dru left. At least she cared about how he was feeling and Spike could have made her feel beautiful and special like she deserved but no one else ever showed her. Maybe she wouldn't have turned to magic for comfort then. (Note to Oz fans: I loved him and Willow together. But they were very much equals and Oz was not much given to romantic gushing. Just saying a little Spike 'I'm your slave' devotion could have boosted my girl's self worth a bit.)

@@chiaramughini6492 noooo, nonono. him and Sarah got along great and I think so did him and the acrtess that plays Harmony. he was talking about how Dru was the one he treated the best, as Spike, which is true. Spike only used Harmony and only ever treated her as a rebound and as a distraction from Buffy, and he was terrible to Buffy and only started to treat her right, after getting his soul. thats what he was meaning.

I think he was just complimenting Juliet. That and the romance WAS more developed and engrossing and just plain making SENSE with Dru than any other relationship Spike had on the show (though I would say Buffy treated HIM horribly, not the other way around). Intelligent actors would prefer the romance arc to be coherent and consistent with their character arc and the plot as a whole. And glad to finally hear someone else point out how badly Spike treated Harmony - I was starting to think no one cared!

This may be a dumb question, but what is Juliet Landau's real accent? Here she sounds American, but I've seen other interviews with her where she sounds British.

She's American. I imagine she did those interviews while playing a British role and either method acting or doing it semi-in-character.

@@Dragonclaws Also, I would say that a lot of girls when doing an 'interview voice' try to sound a bit posh because they are having to be extra polite. It's not necessarily real British sounding but gives a similar impact as that of 'ladies' in historical drama speaking properly, which is usually set in Britain. At least that's how I hear it. It doesn't seem to happen with guys though; their voices just get deeper when they are trying to sound all polite and professional.
