She was born like that, I mean with the rain and her parents left her in a orphanage and there she couldn't make friends and the other children didn't want to be near her and bully her because of the rain so when she grew a little she left and she joined phantom lord and she couldn't make friends there too. Then she saw Gajeel alone because everyone was scared about him but Juvia wasn't and then they became friends.

Izzy Now that's an intriguing concept! I would have done something similar too. I would have had that she was a magical entity that gained human form. She had no memory of herself but was taken in by Zeref and his Empire. Having Juvia be a spy, at least initially, and a Spriggan would have made a lot of sense. I always thought it must have taken an enormous amount of power to permanently make it rain. That's something Mashima overlooked, which he did quite often. However, when she fell in love with Gray she tried to hide her true level of power and her past, afraid of what would happen. She came to call FT home and so let her original intentions go. It would explain also how she suddenly becomes so powerful at times. Most notably when Meredy threatened Gray's life. Even Erza was scared! That could have been explained as her letting loose with her true Spriggan level power because she was protecting Gray. But all throughout she holds back, even in dire situations so FT won't find out. Zeref even gave her a strange look on Tenrou island. I thought that would mean something but obviously not. Either way, all this is what I would've liked to have seen. It would be an interesting twist that Juvia, the sweet comic-relief character was actually hiding a sinister secret. It's not just Juvia, fanfics have done far better with various characters. Honestly, I feel with these characters and the finale, Mashima could have done far better. Nevermind. Too late for all that now.

I remember first seeing her on screen and I was like okay she cool,strong and good character design, her fight with grey and the back story-I was like yep she gonna stay in the series and then she stalked grey and made a very big appearance in arc 3, but then her return after orecion seis and edolis I was like well now that Wendy is a main plus gajeel she stuck as a main side, then she was in tenrou and started having major roles yet was kinda cast away after meredy. I hate how she got nerfed like Mira especially since she is really strong, and now used for the comedy and emotional cuts, like they could have gone so far! I instantly connected with juvia and I love all her scenes but the series really could have made a better impact if they stopped making characters like juvia nerferd and actually focused on others and elevating their storylines instead of the main 5

Juvia has a lot of potential and you can really do anything with her character because of so little that has been mentioned about her background. Mira, I’m with you there. Fairy Tail was a reminder why I love anime shows but it’s also a huge reminder on why I don’t bother with them. It never fails.Mashima gave me a headache. I am past the point of livid. What I hate the most, whether it be book, show, movie, etc., is when they make fantastic characters with so much potential, do absolutely nothing with them, then add in a New Character (two in this case) that is similar to the one you first made. Like what the actual heck are you doing?!? No, I don’t care what you say Touka and Mercuphobia don’t exist. Not when I’ve been hoping and have been patiently waiting for Juvia to get some recognition and then they pull this BS stunt. I have never been so disappointed. Created two whole new characters similar to Juvia when he could have just given an upgrade to her. Juvia already doesn’t have much and he couldn’t even let her be special and be the only water mage they have. Now there’s a water god slayer? I’ve tolerated a lot with what they did with Fairy Tail but this was the last straw for me. I’ve seen to many authors screw over a character but Fairy Tail writers takes the cake. No longer interested in the hundred years quest. Don’t know if Mashima wrote it or someone else did and he just stood in the sidelines but he just lost a fan.
