Two games based off of Joe Dante's Gremlins movies for Sega devices! Wow! Magical entertainment!

This was for some weird reason the first game I got with my Game Gear (not counting Columns of course) and while it originally proved super frustrating to little 11yo me it ended up being a very memorable title after all these years. It definitely shaped my love for mysterious medieval/fantasy themed adventures and still holds an aura of mystery to this day. Those GG tunes put me right back in everytime.

I had tons of fun playing this game on the little clone system they were selling at family Dollar. Something about randomly-generated maps and treasure and risk of immediate death

Picked up Dragon Crystal on the 3DS. Totally worth it.

Thank you for a thorough review of Dragon Crystal. I noticed this title on the 3DS eshop today, and wanted to know if it's worth the purchase. I think I'll give it a shot 🙂

Awesome review as always! The SMS had a much smaller library than the NES, and yet you won't find a rogue-like on the NES. What a rare gem of the 8-bit world. I agree that the GG version is inferior because of the screen crunch.

Cool in depth review of an obscure title. The hunger system reminds of Ultima Exodus, it wasn't that harsh in that game, but it would still be pretty hard to keep your food up enough ánd make enough money to be able to buy other stuff! I agree it's a system that's mostly obnoxious. 🤔 The dragon that follows you strangely reminded me of Brain Lord (SNES). You ever played that game? I get the feeling you might like it!

I remember the food problem. I would actually restart a run if i didnt find a Food ring within the first 4 floors.

Can you share more info on the Dragon Crystal II? First time hearing about it, can't find anything besides the title screen on the internets :/

That's about all I know unfortunately. I was hoping to cover it in greater detail but I couldn't find any solid information outside of those same screen shots you found.
