When looking at these models, you can really appreciate the effort going into WarCraft 3 Reforged. The original game had a lot of models, but of course the developers reused a bunch of assets by just recolouring some models to be time efficient. The art team for Reforged is going out of their way to make as many unique models as possible. The dragons for each aspect have unique visual traits to them that make them look fairly distinct from the other colourations, including the dragon characters with names which have their own flavour to them. That I think needs some acknowledgement and appreciation! :)

Absolutely true man, i enjoy that, like the random paladin names we get in skirmish, these are some pretty nice touches in the game visuals that i enjoy a lot.

@@marsupialmole3926 It's been almost 20 years, the art design of Warcraft has moved well past that. hell reforged is showing dragons in a new style, more in-line with Wrathion's new model. Of all the mobs WoW has yet to update, the dragons have basically been untouched. I'm hoping this is leading into new models for the dragons.

@@marsupialmole3926 I miss the giant frills a little bit too just for how easily they got stuck in your mind, but I just can't see how they could change the Nether Dragons back to their original depicition. WoW pretty much redefined a lot of the look of WarCraft for a lot of people. It's pretty much a given that more people remember TBC's Nether Drakes design than how the originals looked. Especially since they were many players' first flying mounts.

The whelps look adorable now. I want one as a pet. One thing i really appreciate is that all the different dragons has these small details that make them stand out from eachother. The old ones were just palette swaps and looked more or less the same. It's nice to see some attention to detail even if they're just neutral creeps.

You shouldnt have to modify ANYTHING from the original model to make it work right, thats Blizzards job. And no, the old model is shooting it from the throat/neck, and with the small "breath" effect it looks like its from the mouth... Quit playing smart.

yeah a lot of the models don't have a particle effect, but i doubt they'll make these drakes have the glow as the ones in wow don't have much of one. I really liked the nether drakes in wc3 though in general.

I really with they kept the translucent vibe on the neather drake or any of the other units with that kind of astetic. In honesty the flying dragons are the only thing ive been disappointed by so far they don’t feel the same at all.

I'm really impressed by the reforged models, and props to Arcane for making these videos, I've been watching all of them these past few days. Really love that each aspects had different details from one another but I'm not a fan of how every one of them have a red wing. :/

Great comparison video! It's so sad that people need to seek and highlight solely the negative aspects in these new models, when it's so clear that the art team did an awesome job at giving them a modern rendition! These are epic, serious dragons now, with those awesome, more subtle color schemes, as opposed to classic WC and WOW's childish renderings. An incomparable upgrade for the original game ones, also incomparably superior to those in WOW. Do people know for how long WOW players have been asking for new dragon models, since those in WOW can't simply be taken serious right know, if compared with that game's recent models? And Reforged got them first! Instead of being grateful, people seem to seek a flaw and to even praise the old models, claiming they're superior at some given aspect... For God's sake! Edit: the point in the unit from which an attack effect comes can be changed even by us "mortals" in the world editor, you really think that Blizzard made models with this quality so that their final version would release fire from their paws? Give people a break!

I believe a lot of the SFX effects (their attack particles and what not) are still being worked on, they're mainly focusing on redesigning as there is so much to redesign in the game's data, it's a very simple fix though.
