I absolutely love the cutscenes in this game with the wonderful music, fantastic writing, iconic character design and colorful art - the whole story makes me feel just how I felt as a kid growing up watching anime and movies. The fact that -despite the game leaning heavily on RPG tropes and anime cliches- this game can evoke such a feeling of fantasy and wonder in me is proof to me that it's a masterwork. It's the combination of years of dedicated focused passionate hard work by everyone involved. There's not too many things in life that can make me feel that child like sense of wonder again but Dragon Quest is one of them.

I had some stuff going on and put the game down for over 3 months and I thought about starting over, but 25 hours of gameplay isn't as easy to get back as it used to be so I went on KZbin hoping someone would have the story up, so I could get a refresher. Im in the same boat as you, except I got distracted for a year and a half after 20 hours. I was looking for something like this or someone giving cliff notes of the important stuff through the whole game. Then Id stop once I got to nautica. Currently at the Eerie Eyrie after starting to play again today

If your grandson came from the future and told you he was arrested and is now searched for unfairly you wouldn't think "hm maybe this is a GOOD thing". You would probably try and change it so that he does not get arrested in the first place because you think that is best.

@@nastylittlehobbitses4799 There absolutely were spoilers, 100%. Calasmos, Hero's full backstory, and then some. None of this was revealed in game until much later in the game. Chronologically or not. I know now, but I'm definitely glad I stopped watching a few weeks ago..I would have spoiled much of the story.

Ashley S it’s not that it’s not young, it’s that he’s a mix of accents and that don’t really fit into the character. But I take it back saying the voice acting is terrible, it’s terrible in a few characters, Eric being one of them. Played around 50 hours and some characters are well voice acted like Serena and Rab
