Guys I know that the price tag seems a bit much but if you get 40-50h gametime out of this then you paid 1.50$ per hour for Activity that is hopefully enjoyable for you. Of course if you think you will have more fun with a different game them spend your money on somthing else. Pls do not say that this game is not worth the money because it is a remake because it is. Has there ever been a much larger game for the same price? Yes there have been. Has there ever been a game that has been running like shit for the same price? Yes there has been. What I am trying to say is that yes it is more on the expensive side but it does not make sense to compare between games and how long they can entertain you or how great the graphics look. We have a finished product that looks, runs and plays well. The rest is up to you to decide.

The game DOES give a way to be able to filter out low level enemy fights. The hero gains a spell mid way through called 'Holy Protection' that wards off encounters against lower level enemies and stops them attacking you.

Yes. The only two DQ games I might avoid as a newcomer would be 2 and 7. DQ7 is very good, just incredibly long, even by today's standards.

Yes, you can start just about anywhere tbh. For the sake of having the luxury of modern QoL features though, I'd recommend either this or DQ11 S.

@@garfieldodie3106 DQ3 is and always will be my pick for greatest DQ game, simply because it completely revolutionized JRPG's in general. But DQ5 is a very close 2nd for me, and easily the best in the series in terms of the actual story & plot. I would absolute LOVE for a full-on modern HD remake of DQ9 as well... add in even more iconic & classic equipment, more monsters instead of just re-colours/pallet swaps. Bring back all the on-line features!! I loved the grotto dungeon map system, and I'd managed to score a couple of the most famous maps back in the DS days, including the famous Kawasaki Locker map from organised tag meet-ups ;-) Add in new & bigger post-game bonus dungeon would be so cool! More vocations, and fix the quest requirements to unlock some of them please... (gods Armamentalist & Luminary were nightmares to unlock back in the day!) Bring back the online daily store. I originally sunk something crazy like 500+ hrs into DQ9 back in the DS days over the course of about 3-4 years. I don't regret a single minute of it either!

@@TehParismio Lets put it this way - the majority of AA and AAA games are released at this price today. These games are built from scratch: new writing, new characters, new animations, new music composed, full 3d renders, voice acting etc. This game is a REMAKE - it doesn't need new writing apart from perhaps some edits, it doesn't need brand new music (similar to writing, maybe some tweaks), it doesn't have voice acting (at least, as far as I can tell), it included new sprites but then decided not to include full animations in combat, and it's environments are hardly the same as a full 3d render. So what part of the effort demands the full price that it is asking - apart from milking nostalgia? These jap publishers (particularly Capcom and SqEnix, Bandai, and Nintendo) are totally nuts.

I bet IGN would give it a -100/10 if they were ever smart enough to find the Golden Claw secret treasure hidden in the Pyramid Despite having played the OG NES version multiple times, the GBC version multiple times over... I've NEVER managed to get out of the damn Pyramid without being fully wiped out, once grabbing that cursed treasure!Lol People think the basic encounter rate is too harsh?
