DRAGON QUEST BUILDERS: Chapter 4 Town Layout

This was the final draft of my Chapter 4 town before I went on to fight the final boss and play in Terra Incognita.
Built up in the air for this chapter (just above tree height) due to the Rock Bomb monsters. I built in the air before I had the obsidian blocks to fortify my walls below. I wasn't going to take any chances this time.

Thanks for the inspiration. I wasn't even sure we could build a town in this chapter. Just started chapter 4 on the Switch version.

I'm inspired! I want to build my town up in the air as well. Not only because it is EPIC, but also because I'm thinking it will help with it not getting destroyed by trolls and large monsters. What was your experience with this? I'm thinking of making everything at 8 blocks and up? How high was yours?

I think it was like 6 blocks up below the floor? And yeah, I built up to avoid destruction from the exploding enemies. Some big guys can cause problems, and when you hear the bomb's twinkle, lead them away. If they don't twinkle because they don't see you, they aren't a problem.

So I was building up the walls before i began to do much inside when one of the rolling rock things showed up and Kamehameha'd my wall. Can you give me any advice on avoiding that happening again?

I've noticed that if they don't see you (that twinkle sound) then they won't explode. The moment you hear that sound, hurry up and either attack them or lead them away from your castle.

Late I know, but place spike traps around your walls. They'll always kill them b4 they explode, and you'll get nice shards as souvenirs for free.

Heya! Love the town design but a huge question ... where on earth did you find roof tiling in chap 4? I've looked EVERYWHERE and still haven't come across a single tile ... and not able to craft them this chap ... what am I missing? Please help out as would love to use them in my town as well, thanks much! :)

In the portal, there is a fortress where you fight one man. If you build your way to the top, there are evil idols and roof tiles.

kalez238 is there a limit or base border similar to other chapters here in chapter 4

Yes, but that doesn't really matter too much as far as fortifications go because an end boss doesn't attack this town as they do in every other chapter. It only matters for rooms and base level.

How come my tree doesnt grow ? I planted it near my banner of hope

The requirements for trees is that they are within the town borders and that nothing is above (at a certain height) them to obstruct their growth. If none of those apply, then idk.
