For its time, 90s anime music was excellent... but this music is majestic. Incredible, I think it was appropriate to wait almost another 30 years for this masterpiece with the current animation. The best possible music for the best battle of all the animes out there and the best antagonist ever.

The music of the 2020 version is very good, I have no complaints about it, but the charm of the 90s version is that it used music from the video games. I would have liked to see that version go further at the time.

It’s crazy to think Vearn has been stated to be the strongest in the underworld Naderia( the same one as Dq5) only in his OLD weakened state and now he’s back to his peak, as an old man low damage low MP spells like Frizz are deadly in his hands he’s truly one of the strongest in the dragon quest series

I think he was stated to be the strongest in his true form not just as his weakened state. Veruza was quite strong too as he could fight Baran is his draconic hybrid form, he might have been stronger than the old Vearn.

まあ、1991年の旧アニメ版と違ってミストバーンの声が最初から子安さんだったので、大昔に原作をすでに読破してる自分にとってはその時点で安心材料でした。ミストが老バーンに若いバーンの肉体を返しても声は子安さんのままというハンパじゃない安心感ですよね。原作読んでた当時で、すでに真・大魔王バーンの脳内声優は子安さんでした(笑)。

We can't know that now unfortunately, because the volume 2 of DQ dai anime ost hasn't yet been published. But i think that it will come out after the end of the anime, so maybe on october or november? And probably I think this will include the ost of this scene. Truly fantastic, anyway! Can't wait to listen to the 2nd volume!

Fusion Vearn is the strongest of Dragon Quest..He can beat both Baran and Dai..and only loses when both of them become 1 (2 dragon symbols)...If Dai (full power, base) is 10; Baran would be 12; and Fusion Vearn is around 14; Dai with 2 dragon symbols is around 15; Super Vearn: 20... :)

In fact, Baran is the one who will defeat King Varen, even if the last is in his ideal form.. And the reasons are many: First: Baran and Dai equlize when they fought each other because Baran put the human heart aside during the battle, and it is known that the dragon form of Baran combines the strength of the dragon, the cunning of the Demon and the feelings of humans during the fight. Second: Baran did not find it difficult to defeat Haddler when he was in the the super demon form, because the first fought him using the three advantages mentioned above.. And Hadler would have been able to kill King Varen If Zapoera had not intervened then. Third: If King Farn did not know for sure that he would not survive a confrontation with Baran, he would not have used the trick, I mean the black core, to kill Baran and avoid any confrontation with him. Conclusion: Baran with his human heart and a dragon sword has the priority in eliminating King Farn with his own wand, but he certainly will not survive his mortal wounds..
