30:16 I looked it up after encountering the beakons myself, and apparently, Chocobos were introduced in Final Fantasy II which came out in December of 1988, 10 months after this game was released... so I regret to report that these deformed- chocobo lookin' monsters technically pre-date Chocobos.

After you cast nose for treasure, it shows up on your map when you open it up so you don’t have to keep casting it :)

Thanks for the new video! There was Alltrades Abbey in 6 too, if you remember. "Words of Wisdom" is something enables a character to get a vocation which is super useful. 20:15 That line wasn't in the original, it's a reference to DQ11. So Alltrades Abbey could have been...

Just FYI, it's unlikely you'll miss anything on the overworld map, it all becomes important at some point... except, interestingly, in the original game, Alltrades Abbey. You were never directed to go there(originally you'd just be given the black pepper after saving the kidnapped people), it was only mentioned in passing. I appreciate the change, people new to the game might otherwise not realize how important it is.

That staff will be really good against Magic resistant enemies or enemies with Bounce up, least this way Veronica won't be useless in those scenarios with that staff

Another video from my favorite Dragon Quester, so happy. Because of how much i have played other versions, mostly GBC, i like exploring beyond Alltrades Abbey. This is definitely my favorite version of DQ3. It was fun renaming my bag to Meow in the GBC version, it's even commented on naming your bag lol. If there wasn't a block on the way to Portoga that forces you to get the magic key, there technically is a way to get through some places in the game w/o needing the keys and it has to do w/ the new helper feature for this version. Would be wild if there had been a password system done so you could make a helper and then share it w/ people around the world rather than just on your copy of the game. So close to full achievements for my Xbox file, two left.

Yes.. just right before Xmas! Thankfully. Still think this game looks fantastic. The fights are getting good now and we have a dragon enemy. Lives up to the name now. The levelling reminds me of FF(, where you didnt get massive high stats throughout the game, and it was hard to get characters to have high HP - which didnt really effect teh game. I like it that way. Keep it coming Mage! Enjoying this Playthrough!

So one of the things they got rid of from this version that they had in the GBC version (don’t remember if it’s in the Super Famicom version). If you used a Mini-Medal (it was in the item bags in those games), one of your characters will chuck it, and it will hit a party member in the head, and then they sheepishly pick back up the medal afterwards. It might not mean a lot, but I loved it. Also, your characters would style themselves when looking at the mirror, and sometimes the characters would tell you to “Let’s Go”, like they are agitated. This part, I’m not sure if it’s in this version as well.

If you can keep your spells from that last vocations, maybe you should try out making Serena a Warrior Priestess (aka Paladin), Veronica a Martial Artist (aka Elemental Monk)

The Book of Wisdom allows you to change to Sage class and skip the Gadabout route. But.. the Gadabout is the only class to get Whistle ability and is GREAT for farming metals and anything else without running around with musk on. Swap him to Sage at level 20 (doesn't use your book). Or run him through till 45 for Magic Burst for when they change to Sage (prob not worth it though). Imo the book is best saved for another character as needed so they don't have to go through Gadabout also. Thief is prob your best option right now with your setup to go to Gadabout/Sage because he has no spells at all and he is fast. Swapping a magic user to Sage is a redundant because they already have half the spells. You can swap someone else to Thief when you do so you always have one. You can also rename them after class changes at Altrades Abbey, outside on the left, if you want each class to keep the same name (like Yangus). Eureka Moment book on your Sage to make him a Genius for more wisdom.

Metal Slime Locations Tower of Transcendence (5th Floor) - High chance of Metal Slimes spawning here. Baramos' Lair - Liquid Metal Slimes can be found here. Slime Hill - Accessible via the Everbird, this location spawns various kinds of Slime enemies, including Liquid Metal Slimes. Liquid Metal Slime Locations Outside the Teleportal Shrine - Liquid Metal Slimes appear here at night. Maw of the Necrogond - Liquid Metal Slimes spawn here alongside strong enemies. Baramos' Lair - Another good spot for Liquid Metal Slimes. King Metal Slime Locations Slime Hill - This location also spawns King Metal Slimes, providing an enormous amount of experience points. These locations are great for farming experience points and leveling up your characters quickly. Happy hunting! 🎮
