Without the use of save states, it would take, on average, several millennia to beat Beady Longlegs with only one throw, and that's if you _did_ include conventional save-scumming (i.e. if the Beady Longlegs threw off your Pikmin, reload a save and try again).

You are in control of the buttons you press." I only used him to jump with on my first playthrough, and he's great fun for specific challenges. when you said "the most impossible luck ever" that reminded me of those "one shot challenges". several players were trying to beat every boss in a Dark Souls game with one attack, or one cast of a spell. one boss had so much health, the only way to pull that off is with a specific spell that causes fire to shoot out of the floor at RANDOM locations, and you have to get VERY lucky and hit it multiple times. only one of the players doing that challenge was able to pull it off, after many attempts, the other players gave up after several hours of attempts. the challenge was set up by "The Backlogs".

Playing thru pikmin for the first time recently, learned a few things here that I am embarrassed I didn't catch on before. 1- You can send pikmin to attack and carry using the directions and not throwing every single time 2- The color changing flowers are not permanent and can be changed back if needed 3- Burrowing Snagret is supposed to be attacked when beginning to pop above the surface, not thrown on its face 4- There is a treasure inside of a guy I need to bring back twice?? 5- Throwing in the direction of the enemy is not enough. I need the cursor directly ON the specific spot I wanna throw. I've apparently been wasting a lotta pikmin this way, since my eyesight makes it seem like I am hitting it with every throw Made the last 10 days of my playthru much easier, thank you so much for explaining such simple things to my tiny brain

Probably because of code analysis. Usually, coding provides a "spawn area" for stuff like that, and it's usually a circle. A VERY tiny portion of that circle probably reaches the lower floor, making it theoretically possible, but incredibly unlikely.

The same object nudge interaction used to clip on ledges and push parts then causes the bombs to push each other in such a way that one falls of the ledge to the lower level.

Actually, the problem is that Press A undersold how unlikely it is to occur. The chances of that happening are so low that there are only two known instances. This is because the bomb rocks can't actually spawn there, what happens is two of them spawn on each other and one gets pushed off the edge.

Excellent work! The only thing I can think of that MIGHT reduce the number further is if there were a way to somehow lead Beady out of its arena and into the bottomless pit on the other side of the Forest Navel and kill it that way, but even if that were possible, I'm not sure if it would actually result in the Guard Satellite being obtainable afterwards. Beady might just respawn the next day like nothing happened, forcing you to kill it like normal, or worse, the Guard Satellite might not respawn *period.*

With the final boss, it looks like the charging animation continues until he hits a wall, so by changing his direction mid-charge you were able to delay the impact with the wall and keep the animation going longer to give your pikmin enough time to one-cycle him. So whatever you were doing to turn the beetle in a circle was probably what did it.

The bomb rock dropping technique you were talking about is a feature added to some mods. So if people have been using the mods a lot, they may have forgotten that it is not possible outside of mods. Perhaps it was a feature added to versions of the game outside of the GC, but I’m not sure on that.

I don't remember if this was ever tested in the original video, but for Beady, could it be possible to damage him with bomb rocks in the level by grabbing a ton of yellows, huddle under him, and at the last stomp before they dip down, have him crush one of the pikmin to cause a chain reaction. Could the bomb explosion reach him?

The Beady fight and the bomb rock spawn were SUCH cop-outs in an otherwise great video. It'd be fine if they were asides on "this is technically possible but not a viable strategy" and had a theoretical minimum of 3 as the answer to the title's question *with the practical minimum of 20-something*, but my guy ends the video claiming "we just beat Pikmin in 3 throws!" thus heavily cauterizing any further experimentation. The RNG-heavy sections were interesting hypotheticals but they might as well not exist. Might as well "replicate" a cosmic ray bit-flipping an item's collection value by manually altering the save file at that point.

always remember, being "technically correct" is the best kind of correct! --From Futurama season 2, episode 14 - "How Hermes Requisitioned His Groove Back". I really liked this format of going by part vs by day. as I haven't played Pickmin and going by day doesn't mean as much as going by part to me. adding a verbal notation (for all you who listen do videos) and a note on screen saying when in general progression would be good though.
