Uptaten Tower is so creepy specially that dark room with the ghosts. Don't even get me started on Knightmare Towers where we got turned into garden statues. That's why this game is my favorite dragon quest game.

I got Dragon Quest 5 DS when it was released and this music and that first dungeon sent shivers down my spine and I knew I was in for a great RPG, I think any fan of JRPG's should play this one.

I was actually doubtful that DQ5 would be better than DQ4 when I first started the game with my DS, but this song and the haunted castle made me gave this game a chance... and the rest was history. X3

After listening to the SFC version, and this version, for me this version is the better one. The pizzicato pluckings between 1:07 - 1:18 really add a nice touch that was absent in the original.

Due to circumstances I ended up emulating this game on an older laptop (judge all you want like HELL I got the money for a physical copy nowadays) and one drawback was that the audio played slightly slower though it retained the audio quality just fine. This song is the exception, as hearing it now I realize that I enjoyed it more with that slight slowdown. Playing this at .75 speed is about as close to how it sounded, though as mentioned the in game audio was perfectly normal compared to it being a bit crunchy at .75 speed with this vid. The part around 0:48 in particular stuck in my mind whenever I heard it.

i never saw the appeal in dq4 iv seen a whole playthrough on it and honestly i dont like how it takes till the last chapter for u to play as the main character. i like the whole events leading to the meeting of all characters but i didnt like the overall story itself. i didnt even like the characters either.
