Played this on a road trip to a place i haven't been to in 10 years and found out that it kinda made me nostalgic. Almost even tear up a little.....plus i love this game as i played it on the DS and have it on my phone now.

@@Jazzadrin I ain't see this until now, but it's within human nature to form an opinion on whoever you come across, regardless of how much you might actually know about them. There is plenty of information that is public about Sugiyama that would be unsavory to many people. Just because dude didn't meet him shouldn't automatically invalidate his opinion, nor does it mean he shouldn't get to say anything at all. This is the KZbin comments section after all, so we should be able to say whatever we want.

Still, I think the world would be a much better place if we didn't come in guns blazing as if we knew a person when we really don't have that personal knowledge. Indeed, we all have the public face we put out there, and we need to pay the dues for our mistakes we make, but the rumours and gossip and "news" being the first thing people say about someone or immediately bring into the conversation is disappointing at best. I came in with a chip on my shoulder when I saw that comment, for sure. In any case, peace.

DQ5 is very special, especially with the family mechanic. It's a little too "traditional" for modern audiences, so I doubt you'll see themes like that for a while. And the gameplay is fantastic, it's hard to deny the appeal of the Dragon Quest turn based rpg formula.

a truly beautiful piece of music for a surprisingly good video game. a true gem of an RPG. one of my favourites DQ games, for sure. Despite how much I like DQ5, I must confess that this game made me feel uncomfortable with all of that "marriage mechanics". I couldn't help, through most parts of the game, to feel all weird and stuff. I have a marriage phobia or something, that's all I'm saying. which is dumb 'cause is just a video game. I think I need professional help 🤫

How did you play the legit PS2 version? Are you from Japan, did you buy an import of the Japanese game and japanese PS2 and somehow understand Japanese to play it? Or did you somehow manage to put the english fan translated ISO of the game onto the disc and play it on your PS2 that way? Those are like the only ways you could play the game in the West
