man in 2009 i was 5 years old and remember waking up in the middle and went to the living room and my mom was playing and was in the middle of the pirate boss fight and soon after i got to play and it's been my favorite game since and have done multiple playthoughs and can honestly say this is probably the best music in any video game i've heard

lol I remember being a teenage playing this game 15 years ago. I got this game back the initially because it look like dbz, the hero can go super saiyan(us version only) and jessica(you know why) but once I got past the superficial elements, I found a game that was truly magical. I wish I had the words but man there nothing like your 1st dragon quest game

This world music is infinitely better than 11’s. I got tired of 11’s within about 30 minutes but could listen to this forever. Does such a good job of transporting you to another world and is a perfect accompaniment to running over the hills exploring the world. Beautiful.

I remember I actually had to turn the music off in Hotto (?) in the original version without the symphonic OST. First time I've ever done that in a video game. Luckily the symphonic version is better. It's still not as good as anything before it, but better.

The loss of Toriyama is a national tragedy, but Koichi Sugiyama, the actual composer of this music has also passed away. Toriya is famous in the west, but he's not the only important artist. RIP Koichi Sugiyama

I love this song, especially the trumpet solo/section. ALL the music to DQ8 is so beautiful. Koichi Suguyama is truly a masterful and talented composer/musician. I listen to this CD everyday on my way to work. Calm, serene,masterful; it emotionally takes me to beautiful and celestial places when I have a hard day.
