God I can't get over how charming these enemy designs are. They've got a sense of intimidation while still staying in the barriers of the world giving them these cartoonish features, names, and expressions that give them so much character it all just brings a smile onto your face and maybe even a chuckle.... I may not play a lot of Dragon Quest but I still hold an interest within it's character designs. But mostly the enemy designs and it's open world.

you mean the last two missing monsters? they are the final boss. although they don't count toward the monster completion list.

@@alessandrosavoncelli once you kill the final boss and when you get to his home town, you can check the final boss in your monster list but you cannot save your game or go to academy. reloading the game will put you before the final boss.

Make sure to check the description for list and time stamp of each area. note at 33:52 there is a whole list of monsters including bosses, so be wary of spoilers. Final note, if you planing on going for all the monster, hunt them in the post game (part 3). Because many monster you will come across doing quest or story. later area will also have bunch of monster which can also be found in other areas. so hunting monster will be easier and you wont have to go back to older areas twice. also in post game you will get the ultimate key, so you will have to back track the areas anyway, so might as well hunt monster when hunting for treasure.

no missable, i didn't do my monster hunting until the half way in post game where i had to backtrack alot.

What about rarefied monsters... are you able to get them at any point or is there a cut off?

every monsters including rare one are available in the end game. you may fight different version of the monster like vicious but you end up unlocking their regular version as well. the only one that you wont find in end game is some of the important bosses but boss fights are not missable. many of these monster can be encounter during the 3 trial. keep in mind there is night and day cycle in the trial.

How do you fill list of monster in Trial Isle ? Did Dungeon in Trial Isle had two set of monster ?

there are few trail isles where certain monster only appear during day while other during night along with rare monsters. each isle has its own list, some monster they share from the other areas. so you might have half the monster already unlocked in the list.

usually if the monster are not in the world, they are in the trails. so if you miss anything, you can get it in post game. i believe i got the snow ogre rare version in trails during night time.

how far are you in the game, you can get them at the very end of the game in sages trial. skeleton appear during day and skelegon during night. i may have also found skeleton swordsman around Heliodor Castle i think during part 2.

there are few areas in 2nd part of the game that are not in the monster list. these areas replaced by trails areas in post game. monster from those areas can be found in those trails. The Luminary's Trial - Citadel of Spite is like the Fortress of Fear. another area if you notice not in the list is where you fight all the gold monster. this area is also replace by trail isle in post game.

Why cannot view Calasmos the final boss?

Just before you fight the final boss, the game makes a auto-save. after you kill the boss, the game does record the boss into your monsters list and you can view the final boss during the ending. But the game also locks you into that small town at that time, so you cannot go out in the world or even save your game . if you reload your save game, you will be back just before the final boss and the monster list will not show the final boss.

@@kinghangs3297 yes after you defeat the final boss, you cannot make any save. only save you have are before the fight. because after that it is pretty much the ending and during the ending you do get little control over your character but you are locked inside the town and you purpose is to go the the exit of the town to initiate the final scene.

Disciple's Trial - Eerie valley during night time you will find Vicious bobonga who will count as regular bobonga also. that area you will get during 3 part of the game just before the final boss. (its optional area but you party member will mention you to go there so don't skip out on it). i don't remember where i fought the regular one, wiki says "Dundrasil Region (Mid game) Castle Trodain "
