Dragon Quest Your Story, But I Fixed the Ending

Just to know the ending wasn't like this and everything was fake just made the movie depressing.

I get the message the film was trying to push, but if the message requires invalidating everything the characters went through and did (as well as having a bunch of sus implications), then there really shouldn't have been a "message" at all. This should have just been a fun fantasy movie, nothing more.

I actually really enjoyed the ending.

the ending invalidates the entire plot. nothing happened, these characters dont exist, the adventure was pointless. it also has grim implications. if the protagonists memory was wiped that means he thought the trauma he experienced in the game was real so that will follow him into reality. it also implies the game's admin watched luca DO IT with the virtual bianca.

@ the ending showed what the entire movie was about….. wait for it….. A Video game. Hence - A Dragon Quest story. You as the audience “ a fan “ shouldn’t been able to relate to the ending. That’s why I loved it. I understood it among most. But take from it what you will. Ambiguity

@@tyrannosaurus62 it didnt NEED to be about a video game. it could have just been a fun fantasy movie, nothing more. a movie about a game is freaking lame. a movie ADAPTING a game would have been way cooler. when i watch a movie showing an ADVENTURE, i expect the ADVENTURE to MATTER. i UNDERSTOOD the ending, i just still think it was an awful idea. also i find your tone to be condescending and rude.

@ the movie was inspired from the game and so… its based on the video game franchise. But like it or not. I loved the ending. And I seen a lot of mixed opinions about it. So I leave it to this. To each their own.

I kind of liked the ending somewhat mostly as to me it took a movie that was ok and gave me something memorable to take away from it though I never played any Dragon Quest game except 9 but I love that game.

I understand that. But it also means the adventure itself never happened and everything the characters went through and overcame meant nothing.

@@OmegaChase1002 yeah... honestly good point never actually thought of it like that for some reason and now that you mention it the player deciding what wife he wants next is actually also demining to the characters who did feel quite real even though I'm far from a massive DQ player. but still the virus was at least an interesting concept on paper just poorly executed.
