The animation looks very amazing. I like that the staff put so much dedication, quality and detail during the adaptation of this anime. The release date was announced earlier than expected. Glad that the 2nd season will come out next year. Can't wait to see it.

The animation team seem to have ignored the source material, never researched Norse Mythology or even watched a Marvel movie. I can’t take Odin seriously as a cyclops skeleton king.

Yup, season 2 is called "The Mourner's Eyes". The first episode is the backstory of Chu Zihang, you can see Lu Mingfei at 1:05 when he was 14. The rest of the season goes back to Mingfei in the present day.

Odin is goofy ass. He’s just some Skeleton cyclops here, like have they not read the comic, original novels, or even seen the Marvel movies? The original design for Odin here is a masked man on an eight legged horse, whatever they made here is ridiculous. Also the highway scene at least in the comics was completely devoid of cars except one, because they have entered Odin’s realm and was meant to give a more horror vibes. This just feels that they have ditched that in favor of action, completely ignoring that doing so would mean there would be a bunch of witnesses to what happened that night. Xiami’s the only new design here that’s good. Hard to go wrong with an anime girl design.

I was also a bit baffled by Odin's new mask, it's cool if they want to make it move or emote a little, but the design itself is a bit too out there for my taste. Regarding all the cars on the highway, if you look carefully, they're not moving, I think they're all empty.

"If this world hates you, then it is my enemy" is a line from the third book. Those issues you mention are a re-write of the 4th and 5th novels that the author pulled out of nowhere. We're still waiting for the new version of book 5.
