There were lots of casualties on both sides... so it really was a bloodbath; with no mercy shown! The more mobile Goblins were very aggressive, but the Orcs gave as good as they got, and went down hard! The surviving Giants, being equal opportunity scavengers, ate well that night!

Unless it is different in Dragon Rampant than it is in Lion Rampant, "Leader rules are only applied if the Leader is in play on the tabletop and his unit is not Battered." (page 11) The rule giving the leader +1 to Courage tests is a "Leader rule", so no, you cannot apply it.
@tonys43412 жыл бұрын
No, it's the same in both rules. Interesting interpretation as if you take the rules literally, then Leaders can leave the unit is it is battered? Personally, we've always played as Jon did, but don't allow any leader traits to be used, and the +1 for courage checks only for the leader's unit and not anything else within 12" if the leader's unit is battered.

@@tonys4341 I think this is the way. It negates the bulk of his powers, while still giving him a modicum of extra protection.

I’ve gotta watch this again a couple of times. Too much fun for just one viewing.

At 21:00, even though the orcs passed their courage check, they still must retreat because they lost more SPs. Page 35. And despite my rules lawyer whinging, I really enjoyed watching. As ever, after seeing your battles, I have to resist buying and painting up more forces! BTW....Xenos Rampant is up for pre order! Very excited about that!

Yep. The unit that loses the most figures must fall back.

Which system do you like better for your 15mm models, Dragon Rampant or Chainmail?
@TheJoyofWargaming2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure. They both excel at different things. DR is a lot more 'gamey' than simulation, so it plays faster. Chainmail works a lot better for crazy mismatch scenarios though. DR has a lot more minor rules and exceptions and edge cases, which can be frustrating. Chainmail has a morale system that grinds the game to a halt after every melee. Not better. Just different, y'know?

@@TheJoyofWargaming I get it. I have both those too but have yet to play either. However I have dusted Chainmail off thanks to your campaign and plan to start my own campaign soon.

@@mooseworks_soldiers I barely scratched the surface of that game. You are going to uncover so many little gems in it.
