19:27 There actually IS somewhere for you to go here! If you go on the leftside of the bridge, there lies a firework on one of the islands on the edges which brings you to the end of the section - clearly a well hidden secret!

And fun fact: If you take the firework rocket, then take it again, your distance will be doubled for some reason I wanted to see if it doubled my velocity every time I used it, but I couldn't stop dying after the second rocket

My favorite part about these level analyses is definitely how the camera plays into the experience. Probably because it’s a Sonic game and you’re going super fast, but I’ve never acknowledged the camera’s movements even if I’ve probably subconsciously noticed them and let it influence how I felt about the level. Thanks for sharing all of your observations with us!

This is some Egoraptor Megaman X levels of game design analysis. I would have never thought for a second that stuff like the eagles representing the height sonic is at or the light on the wall highlighting a jump were details that the game devs took into account to help guide the player through the level. This is an INSANE amount of analyzation that manages to perfectly explain what about the boost formula makes it so appealing and thrilling in games like Unleashed and Generations. keep making these videos man, they are genuenly some of the best sonic videos I have seen.

13:23 One thing i love is how taking the bottom path has you (most likely by accident) boosting through those destructable boxes, something you may not have known was possible from the 2 boxes earlier in the level, now incentivizing you to go back and try breaking those boxes to find the alternate path that you may not have known was there before. I love when games teach you stuff like this

Your Rooftop Run video is what introduced me to your channel, and I LOVE the idea of covering Unleashed and Generations levels in the future (as those are my 2 favorite Sonic games, Unleashed slightly on top) and my favorite level in the entire franchise is Jungle Joyride I loved the asthetic and music, but the more I played it (trying to get all S ranks) the more I loved it, to the point that it's become the level I've spent the most time speedrunning to better my time (4,23 for now), and because of that I instantly knew what you meant by the music synching when leaving the docks I would love to see it covered, especially with both of these level analysis being so detailed and fun to watch, giving it some representation In any case, I'll be happy whenever it comes, keep up this video idea, I love it!

I think Eggmanland would be a brilliant level to analyse, such a divisive level; one of my favourites of Unleashed; represents a lack of hand holding that is a far, far cry from any Sonic Game from Generations onwards really - as someone who loves the sonic games for their high skill ceilings, among many other things - I'll never forget the level that really pushed what I had learned in the game, for reasons that, unlike in some of the more brutal stages of 06, felt mostly fair, and very much adaptable. The atmosphere too, absolutely menacing, like any level in a world where Eggman won would be

Hoooo man, if you asked me months ago I would've said NO WAY. But after digging more into Unleashed, I'm starting to come around. Feels like one of the most purposefully challenging levels in all of Sonic, it's shocking how difficult it is compared to all the other levels in Unleashed (not a bad thing imo). It wasn't even on my radar for this series... but I guess if I'm doing them all, right?...

I love in depth videos of individual levels like these, really excited for the rest you manage (given these probably take a lot of effort) to make! Some random notes: For the large boundary bridge there is some purpose to the open area, at least to the left side where there is a firework which as a safety net to those who fall off the main paths. Given how the drift works in unleashed I assume the area was so big to allow players to make U-Turns on the water; the drift also replenishes the boost gauge so theoretically you could stay on the water for eternity if you really wanted to. I find it a bit of a shame you didn't give mention to Dragon Road act 1-2, there I find the snappy movement and anticipation of the Unleashed-hop really benefits the chaotic and brutal level design changes of the first platforming section. All of it timed to be completable in only one cycle if done flawlessly, it's great. That said though the final platforming section in 1-2 put me in the psych ward. Rlly happy to see someone mention how in-sync the music feels with the levels, as you mentioned it can be pretty easy to find 'something' in music that is so fast, but it really adds to the experience. My favourite of these little moments has to be the saxophone intro of Skyscraper Scamper and its sax outro during the skybridge ascent later in the level.
@Ajakes

Hang tight on those bonus level mentions, the more I make these vids, the more I could see myself maybe tackling all of them + DLC per country, (aka an Adabat Adventure Pack video) as they're a bit shorter plus we'll have the OG level videos to compare on those Act 1-2 levels. Also originally for large boundary bridge, my hypothesis was that the extra space was used for Dragon Road Act 5, until I replayed that and things didn't match up lol. Glad I learned about that firework tho, because whenever I fall off the bridge I just tank it as a death. Didn't know I could save myself! Appreciate the comment dude 👍

I think Planet Wisp Act 6 has some of the coolest camera position-y stuff in all of Colors, the start with that "dark indoors to bright outdoors" effect that's also in act 4, the way you can see the alternate path while heading to the first enemy homing attack chain, the way you can briefly see the pillar at the end of the level and the planet's tractor beam at the peak of a grinding loop-de-loop, its so cool and i'd definitely recommend it for a future video!

Oh hey, another upload so soon? Here I thought it'd take a month for such peak... Wait a minute, that username at 1:17 looks familiar. Okay but really, I appreciate the shout out, I didn't think you'd have so much *more* to reveal to me in regards to how Dragon Road stands out amongst the crowd. It's definitely "zone-like" and I think that's part of why I adore it. It's nostalgic as Tenkaichi 2, Scoody-Doo Unmasked's Chinatown, Xialoin Showdown, and several other core parts of my childhood really wanted to evoke a mystical asian adventure aesthetic, often lumping in multiple regions unnaturally under the "Chinese" theming umbrella (looking at you Scoob, and your "chinese" ninjas). But it's ALSO nostalgic to Sonic Heroes' dreamlike level design in some parts, with level elements that straight up don't feel naturally placed. That said, I'm a big fan of the first round platforms section because I *fondly* remember it as a struggle, a challenge, because also like Heroes is was a section that tried to teach you how to slow down. Maintaining speed is about knowing when not to fly through something with a boost and instead hit the right angle or time your jumps right. I don't know how the level sections are loaded in terms of code but every time I get to those first round platforms nowadays, the music calms down for a moment and I jump onto the spring with minimal waiting because of just how high Sonic's full hop can really go in this game. It reminds me a lot of how the anxiety inducing pressure of the giant alligator in Heroes' Lost Jungle teaching you about the vine's rhythm, so you can preform it faster on repeat playthroughs. In regards to its visual disjoint, I think it actually does that for the purpose of highlighting the more refined one later. While Sonic's controls still are slippery and don't encourage speedy experimentation, I think the section acts as a self-imposed wall for players to see how fast they can get through it, and since I've mastered it (I guess) I find myself enjoying it a lot as a break from the reaction time boost gameplay. So even though Jungle Joyride has more wild scenery and interesting camera work, even though Savannah Citadel has tighter platforming and arguably rhythmically in-tune music, Dragon Road serves as my absolute favorite boost level from the franchise for all that it hides and teaches you. As far as I'm concerned, it's a perfect level *because* of its flaws, not in spite of them. Also can we talk about how; 1) ridiculous it is that the camera actually wraps AROUND the river run rail 2) STUPIDLY well hidden that music record is around 16:52 LIKE--- WHO THE HELL IS FINDING THAT??? I SURE DIDN'T UNTIL NOW LMAO
@Ajakes
@Ajakes 3 ай бұрын
You made it! Glad you got to see the video. Heroes is a good comparison for Dragon Road, as I always see Heroes as very "game-y" (aka track elements are bright and noticeable, emphasis on multiple game mechanics, etc.) Nice to hear a differing opinion on the platforms, I can see from your perspective why they are important to you and your theory on the design. Ultimately, I trust the designers and I do think that section was intentional, and not some oversight. In the end we're just relying on player's subjective taste, and the more I read from people, it can go either way. A lot to unpack from just 10 little seconds in a sonic level! Also, YOU JUST REVEALED THAT RECORD TO ME TOO OH GOD. I didn't leave it in intentionally, it legit just never caught my eye. You saved me a collectible, thanks! ALSO thanks for the comment!

top tip for the jump here at 12:27 when playing 60fps, it becomes more possible if you skip the dash pads by airboosting over them and then slamming to keep your speed low, then going into the automated run segment. it kinda sucks a bit having to slow down in a sonic game but the time saved from taking the alternate path is worth it imo
@JohnnyCenter25

Been playing a lot of Shadow Geberations as that came out today and I'd love for you to tackle some of its level design. I'm personally at this place where I'm not sure how to dissect it, not that it is a bad thing. I think Unleashed has a clear philosophy of "go slow to discover alternate paths, then master the fastest path through reaction time". Like a lot of people complain about the medals as they feel going slow is counterintuitive to the boost style, but I feel like the medal are intentionally placed to make the player look for alternate paths. Some times the gane tease you about a path by showing it in the background, but the medals feeds into that philosophy. Then you have to memorize the fastest path and try to maintain the boost and keep momentum through quick button inputs which is why the game constantly have quick time events (to give you practice for maintaining speed on difficult paths). Can't remember who, but someone compared Unleashed to a rythm game and I totally get that comparison because once you found the path you want to optimize it very much becomes a matter of timing button inputs. Generations strays away from the linear and leans way more into the exploration segment. The red rings serve a similar function as the medals, but where as the medals could all be collected in a single run usually by taking the most difficult path, the red rings are placed more with the intention of highlight the scope of the level design. To show its verticality and the amount of paths you can take. The fastest path becomes more obscure as I think the game wants you to just explore more. Take Chemical Plant Act 2. That level also places you in a very similar position to Dragon Road, but where Dragon Road diverts from its first linear section by having a "blink and you'll miss it" faster path through the hole in the wall and that path clearly being faster because it's hard to miss (again encouraging going slow first to find your path before trying to master going fast on the found path), Chemical Plant has 2 divertions almost immediately with little to no signposting and I believe the fastest one is the right path, but the left path is just as much highlighted as the right path. It's not always clear what the fastest route will be and that does leab into a philosophy of exploration. I personally prefer Unleashed's philosophy as I find optimizing faster routes way more fun there, but there's no taking away from how much deeper Generations can feel with its design. Shadow Generations however I feel like is doing both as its collectibles are often on the fastest hidden path, but the less rigid controls also allows you to more freely roam the level. As in Unleashed you're constantly on rails trying to maintain the momentum from being on rails (not literal rails just try to highlight the linearity), while Generstions is more explorative, but through its more rigid controls can also sometimes feel like a rollercoaster. Shadow Generations does both and neither at the same time. I don't know if this makes any sense at all. As I said I'm really struggling with finding the level philosophy here, but I hope it resonates somewhat when you play Shadow Generations and I'd love for you to tackle it some day!
@Ajakes
@Ajakes 3 ай бұрын
That's really well thought out, you should make a video on that lol, I never thought about the collectibles incentivizing different directions in the level, but I totally see what you mean. I just beat Shadow Generations this morning, and I think I'm gonna make a quick video with my initial thoughts on it later in the week, if you have any observations over that time you should let me know in the comments! I'm still trying to pin that game down too, my biggest takeaway being that it puts a lot of emphasis on combat (which I appreciate, as it's a Shadow game), but they use the combat to gather your momentum, instead of using runways. And I think that's a very interesting switch up. Moments where I'm simply boosting forward as Shadow don't feel as fast as me chaining together 5 robots and launching forward. I've never enjoyed combat so much in a Sonic game, as I typically avoid enemies, but in this one, I'm always looking for enemies as they can lead towards an alternate route. Now, how they incorporate that into the level, I might need to think harder on. So far, Kingdom Valley has felt the strongest in that regard, both Acts 1 and 2. Excited to get more in depth about it later. Thanks for the comment and insight!
@JohnnyCenter25

@@Ajakes Hehe thanks! I typically write comments just as an outlet to shoot out my thoughts on a topic. Sometimes I'm grateful when there's some engagement or discussion in the replies, but I never expect a reply from the CC (sorry for the spelling errors haha). But yeah, very good point about the enemy interactions! That is often overlooked/under utilized in previous boost games so maybe that's what's throwing me off. I was genuinely just thinking of how good of an addition the "launch enemy" mechanic is to the boost formula and how it elevates certain parts of the level design. It looks like they found a good way to integrate some of the Open Zone combat from Frontiers into the momentum of the boost game (although I do wish we had some more platforming sections from Frontiers too to break up some of the linearity of certain gameplay sections, but it's not that bad or important). Also that combat is more fitting of Shadow is a good highlight! I'm missing the light speed dash, but some levels used a chain of enemies instead that basically functions the same as how the light speed dash did in the original Generations so that actually justifies the replacement. I would have never made that connection if you didn't spark that thought. I'm just going to have to play some more until I find a way to sort out my thoughts. Currently working on 100% the game so perhaps after that I will have played enough to clear up the brain fog I'm currently having. I am loving the game so far though and there's definitely clear intention behind their level design that just make it really work, albeit different from how other boost games have done it. Can't wait for your video. I know you said you don't consider yourself a professional in Game Design or a "Smart critic" in your previous Unleashed video, but clearly you've got a keen eye for design theory and a well thought out way of communicating your observations. Keep speaking from the heart and you'll keep inspiring more thoughts and discussions on the games we love, than you!
@Ajakes
@Ajakes 3 ай бұрын
@@JohnnyCenter25 Man, that's a great idea about the launch mechanic, it would fit really well in a boost game. Even though it does stop you in place, the amount of space you traverse from using it would be more than enough to make up for that, plus you can have it give you extra momentum when you hit the ground. I'm thinking an Unleashed QTE style slow down, where things don't necessarily stop, they just pause for a bit to let you choose your inputs. And you know, it totally went over my head that there IS no light speed dash lol, I think you're right though, chaining enemies is essentially their replacement. Again, maybe the intention was to just reshape Sonic's typical moveset into something more "action-packed," even if they have similar functions. I'm still working on the 100% too, so I'm curious to see how the rest of the hub world integrates all the moves you learn throughout the game. I don't think it stands strong as a boost game, but it kills as a "Shadow" game. I'll refrain from saying anything more as most of my thoughts will come out tomorrow, but thanks again for the comment and encouragement!

I always knew this game had so much attention to detail but this takes my appreciation of it to a whole new level. Everything from the differing heights of the merlons to enhance your sense of speed, to the eagles that help you get an idea of just how high you are and the camera omg the camera I did not notice just how much the camera adds to the spectacle like it’s so subtle but it makes such a big difference. I can’t explain how much I love this video and I’m so excited to see the rest of the videos that you do. This is fantastic stuff man I love it!

11:40 might be the greatest "hello" I have heard in my life it makes me so happy idk why Also you're currently playing Rush soooo... just putting it out there cause it's my favorite Sonic game... I'd mayyyybe like a level analysis on one of those levels (probably Water Palace would be nice). Plus it could be a cool experience to analyze a 2D level for the first time. But anyway, love these videos man, keep doing what you're doing

These videos are super cool!! It's really amazing to understand how the game design makes some of these moments from the game feel so grand. When I play through these levels I'm subconsciously processing all of these things, but it's really nice to see them pointed out and explained so well. Also, these vids are showing me details that I've just never noticed when flying through the stages. Specifically, at 25:50 there's a spring right in front of the interceptor chase that I've never noticed. I really wonder how to get there now and I'm wondering if you noticed it but just didn't include it in the video.
@Ajakes
@Ajakes 3 ай бұрын
oh my god you aren't kidding, there IS a spring there loooool, I NEVER picked up on that. I assume it would let you spring over the entryway to the interceptor chase, if you fell down during the jump? Windmill Isle has a similar strange hidden dash pad underneath the building where you circle the roof and take the zipline. Might have to go back and try that spring... Nice catch!

Wow. Just wow, what a video. I usually never comment unless it's the video if someone I personaly know, but honestly I could not just... Stay silent LMAOOO. Not only do you seem like an incredibly chill person, but you sir have some damn taste, I didn't expect to see a long ass video analysing every bit of my favorite level, from my favorite game of all times, I loved the way you described everything, how you actually adressed the camera work which is something I always noticed playing the game even when I was a kid, how you gave names to different section of the levels which I thought I was the only one doing that (mainly to make S ranks easier) the art you made for those sections and other parts of the video, your voice isn't boring (to anyone thinking you have a boring voice for their videos, practice talking in a scripted manner more, nothing comes for free, this is not an insult to any of you :) ) and you're pretty funny, you also give a lot of respect to the region of Chun-nan itself instead of seeing it as just... Hub World to go to the good stuff, to me personaly those hubs were always just as important as the levels and I loved talking to the people in it. Also some other things I'd like to point out: In the bridge section there's a rocket that will take you to where those three robots are if you happen to fall in the water! If going for an S rank, you should notice that when going on the dragon for the dragon that takes you to that one platforming section you like, the music becomes quiter, and the tempo becomes faster and faster until going for the main upbeat Melody again when doing the Sky diving in the spikes bit. (for me it happens right when the fire works happen so it's extra cool) Honestly this video just made my day, thank you for uploading it, if you make more Unleashed content BROTHER EXPECT ME TO BE AS ANNOYING AS I WAS TODAY LMAOOO. It was a pleasure discovering your content! Now please keep it up, take your time with everything, and stay safe!

I was about to sleep before I saw your comment, had to give a reply since it was so NICE. Sincerely, thank you for all the kind words. I spend a lot of time on these videos, but not to perfect them, more so because I get distracted having so much fun on sections and I don't see the time fly by (aka, oh my god I spent all day drawing the setpieces I had no idea, oh well!). But what's even better is releasing the videos and talking to everyone in the comments. That's why I end up replying to everyone like an obsessive maniac lol, it's amazing hearing everyone's different perspectives, unique observations AND subjective bias! I don't even consider that a bad thing!!! If people like the platforming section because it looks pretty, that works for me! So when people do leave comments, it means a lot, cause I know they're taking time out of their day to engage with this long-ass video. Thank you for taking the time to write it, I'm happy we can both geek out over this great level. And stick around, because we are doing ALL OF UNLEASHED BROTHER. And I expect you to be as ANNOYING AS EVER because we got a LOT to discuss. Appreciate it dude!

One thing I love about this level (and a couple of other levels in unleashed) is the fact that this level acts as a way for the player to get comfortable with thier new ability (in this case the air boost) by having a lot of the levels shortcuts be accessible via the air boost as well as giving players sections where they can air boost with little to no time loss such as the starting ramp.

I love seeing those analysis of Sonic stages, I've learned a lot thanks to many of them, more than just the superficial level of having fun and enjoying the gameplay, finding why they're so engaging even in the most small ways possible in ways that you'll most likely not even notice but it will create a better experience and even unconsciously will make you happy and satisfied The things that you mentioned here about how the music drops at the start of the stage when you do certain actions like boost for the first time, quickstep or hit a dash pad Or what you said in the last video of Rooftop Run about the camera work when showing spectacle in Sonic games, and how they're so good in giving the right feeling, pointing the camera up to show how high something is, pointing the camera down to show how high you are, zooming out to show how big something is by showing a small Sonic in comparison, etc. This, and more things I've seen in more videos analysing things like this, like how in Sonic CD in Collision Chaos if your timing is right, the music will drop in the exact same time Metal Sonic takes Amy away and flees from the screen, or how in City Escape the song kicks in just as Sonic lands with his board on the ground, and the lyrics of the song comes as soon as the GUN lady stops talking on her radio Those details are just so cool

I think my vote for the next video would have to go to Modern Sonic’s Seaside Hill. So many different ways to tackle that stage, set to what is, in my opinion, the prettiest scenery in the game, I think would make for a wondrous conglomerate of scribbles from you! I love how you actually analysed all the different camera angles, it's such a subtle thing that many people overlook, but it adds a lot to the sense of speed and really shows that those "straight paths" have actually a lot going on sometimes!! (PS: I just watched your video on Shadow Generations, and I noticed you emphasized the combat a lot in the gameplay part. I didn't personally notice an abundance of combat, so I'd love to hear more of what you think of that in a level analysis for Shadow Generations)

Thank you, the cinematics of Unleashed are some of my favorite parts, so I yap about them the most haha. (As for Shadow Gens, planning a comparison soon so I can get more into it, but I was referring more to the fact that combat almost always starts a chain of movement (or throws you into an alternate route) to the point where I was looking for fights to explore more. And since these shortcuts pushed you through the level faster, I felt like combat was always encouraged.) Just my own thoughts though, curious if you have a different take!

Haia since youre encouraging viewer interaction this is my comment for the day: one of my favorite unleashed quirks/traits that i just love love love is the deepblue trail that sonic leaves behind after every homing attack or stomp and i was a wee bit sad at 12:26 when it wasnt mentioned but i love the trail sonic leaves behind in the loop right after stomping down the ring trail into the dash panels. i dont know if its the dust particle effects they have on that specific loop or what but it looks like sonic is leaving behind action lines with the blue trail being incredibly vibrant going around that loop with it disappearing the moment you go into the lower half of the section 12:29 (also at 21:20). intentional or not, the devs placed the ring trail in a straight line down to entice the player to follow them down to hit the dash panel. everytime the part comes up in my replays of unleashed im always so amazed by the vibrancy of the blue with the muted colors of dragon road and the camera following. When i watched the rooftop run video and you mentioned stomping right before the clockhand loop it felt like someone knew exactly how I felt on tiny little things as stupid as "cool blue line follows the animal in a circle" its such a tiny and insignificant thing but it made my neurons activate instantly. I kindly would like to suggest for you to be on the look out for any set pieces that have sonic (intentional or not) activate a homing attack or stomp to give some nice streak flavor similar to the one in rooftop run!!! keep it up with these videos I am hypnotized by them and just how amazing the analysis is!!!! edit after watching the video more: it seems the dash pads intentionally give sonic the vibrant streak and the action lines as at 21:50 , sonic lands on the dash panel and gains the streak anyways making it a dedicated event the devs placed into the loops!!!!!
@Ajakes
@Ajakes 3 ай бұрын
Oh yeah, I never noticed how much you get them on loops. I always catch the one at 21:50 because Sonic will stay quiet on that loop, which makes me listen in on his footsteps on also notice "Oh hey, that trail is always on that part." The clocktower one on Rooftop Run is my favorite, I think whenever they pair it with sounds (Sonic's footsteps taking over / Clocktower booming out), it activates my neurons even more lol. I'll keep an eye out for it on future levels! Thanks for the comment!

Oh another excellently made easy to consume video! Again, really makes me appreciate these levels so much more than I already did just running through them quickly! That Spring under the dragon's tail blew my mind! Although you're probably going to eventually do all of Unleashed regardless, I'd love to see Jungle Joyride tackled! I used to not be a big fan of the stage but recently I've been much more into it on a level design perspective. Now, what makes it work (or not) as a spectacle? I'd love to hear about it! Also a quick note, when you see a "U" spelt out in English in an Asian language it's probably your best bet to default to an "oo" sound rather than "Ah" sound. There might be some exceptions but it has much more of a chance to be correct.

I can't express how much I love this, excellent video with a lot of insightful observations, and insanely good editing/delivery to boot. Well done. Something I'd love for you to consider going forward is going into a bit more detail about the design dynamics of the different routes. How much does time does the optimal route actually save you? What even is the optimal route and why? What is that route demanding of you? I think these questions can lead you to more instances of good/poor game design to remark on. An interesting point in this level is that the first grind rail top route is actually slower than the bottom route IF you manage to jump over the springs and clear the ledge. So here the level punishes you for just going forward, rewards you a bit for being observant but rewards you even more for skill. I think the same is true for the 2nd section of the bridge; if you just run forward and nail the jumps it's as fast or faster than launching yourself onto the roof. Another point is in the water section the first shortcut is on an island backed by a pagoda so if you go for it and mess up you'll likely bang into the pagoda and the island will save you. The second is on the water so you'll die if you mess up, you also need to turn at a tighter angle to get to it, AND weave between 2 boats that will also kill you (so I never even try lol). Just a nice gamey instance of training wheels on/training wheels off, but you need to be proactive to engage with either. In your first water running section ever you are rewarded for taking control of your direction the literal moment you're able to and not just running forward. I'm not sure how much time the shortcuts save you but that would be cool to know. Finally, a tiny detail, if you take the route with the 3rd tower and ride the firework, it drops you at the tip of the dragon's tail: allowing you to activate boost to run up the dragon. The other routes drop you on the dash panel so you can't activate it. What I'm trying to get at with this one is that the optimal routes aren't always just ends for good gameplay, but also a means for more good gameplay. I apologize for the text wall, and I hope I don't sound ungrateful suggesting more work when this video clearly took an insane amount already (seriously the diagrams, illustrations and animations are exceptional), I just feel that there is some untapped potential in your approach, and given how good this is already I'd rather you tap that potential than someone else. Perhaps the quickest and easiest way to touch on some of these points would be to round off your analyses by telling us the routes YOU took to get your best time/score and why. Hopefully some food for thought. Looking forward to the next video regardless. Keep up the excellent work :)

First off, thank you for a very kind, GOOD-FAITH critique, I feel like those are rare nowadays, so I gotta give props. These are all great points, and I hope to take them into my following videos. I think the struggle I'm currently having is whether I make this series more technical or subjective, when the answer is probably both. My main fear is missing things / getting details incorrect, as ultimately, some things fly over my head (as I'm sure you see people pointing out in the comments haha). Like, I had NO idea about the dash pad on the tip of the dragon until you just mentioned it. So I will typically rely on my own subjective observations. Plus, I ain't the "greatest" Unleashed gamer, and I imagine people on the speedrunning side have stronger things to say about those specifics. BUT those are just my silly excuses, and I DO label these things as "Level Analyses" so it's a bit silly for me NOT to go into more technical details. It's legitimately something I want to work on, I was just trying to figure out how. I think your solution at the end there is a great way to ease me into that sort of stuff. Hope to work on it some more. Thanks again for the very kind message! I got a comment like this when I was like 19 and it changed the way I made videos, so don't think it doesn't help. Appreciate it dude! 👍
