Dragon's Dogma II had the chance to make that happen, instead they release a half-assed game. Games only are referenced as genre's (ex. Souls-like) when they truly stand on their own apart of the competition. The same could be said about Breath of the Wild.

@@AlqantDBlank it still has a chance buddy, DDO is here and DDDA still exists. DD2 can get a resurgence with a proper DLC and voila all Dogma-like games are one step closer to happening. A dogma-like game that is coming out eventually is Crimson Desert. It’s already happening. Just gotta give it time.

Honestly my the thing about DD2 that bugs me the most is having less skills for most of the vocations than in DD:DA (especially given that I am a sorcerer main). It makes even less sense considering the way the way that the skills are configured (at least on console) and I don't see why they couldn't have had 8 skills being equipable at once with the core skill (quick spell in the case of the sorcerer) toggling between bumpers depending on which bumper you were already holding down. It is mildly infuriating choosing between spectacle and optimization for sorcerer with the 4 skills but of we had 8 (or even only 6 like in the first game) no one would have to choose. We'd be bale to have one spell for each element, augural flare for the extreme damage, and the big spells like seism, maelstom, and meteoron because they're simply cool as hell with spell hold to have one of the big spells on stand by all the time.

That game doesn't need much to run it. If you want to run this game and some PS2, PS3, Xbox, N64 games, with like $1200 you more than good. I can probably play DDON on my $700 laptop. Hell, my brother has a $1500 gaming laptop and it runs Baldurs Gate 3 without any issues at all. Its more than capable running this game too.

I played this years ago, back when it was still running offically. My memory of it is a bit hazy but I think it was about the time that they were getting ready to close down the Russian servers? Anyway, the game was pretty cool, the problem for me (or any english speaker) was that you had to play on either the Japanese or Korean servers. Neither of which wanted people from overseas with high pings crowding up their servers which meant that if they figured out you were not Japanese/Korean you would likely get banned.

They practically sold DDON to modders. I forgot the exact story but the modding community actually was able to convince Capcom. They can't change anything within the game code. But they are allowed to restore everything they like. I think they also allow some optimizations for performance. I think The Rift did a video about it a few months ago.

DD as a whole is fun but the story is trash and whence you’ve min maxed with every class and learn to cheese leveling via bitter back isle, the game gets boring. DA was decent….sorta. DD2 added some flavor in regards to the combat but the story is also trash and uh, until that DLC and whatever it has to offer it’ll suffer the same fate as DDA for me. DDO 🤦🏾‍♂️……
