You don't have to pay to fast travel in DD2 as the video preview picture states. Port crystals are used to set a spot on the map to be fast travelled to. Ferrystones (the consumable item which you use to fast travel to port crystals) are only found in game. All major areas in the game such as towns and cities have port crystals in them by default.

I don’t see the huge deal. The micro transactions were probably enforced by the higher ups who are greedy as hell, not the actual devs of the game. Besides, the majority of them are either cosmetic (not actual content like weapons and what not) or things that you can easily acquire in the game just from playing.

I have a mid range gaming PC and have not had noticeable performance issues, I have my games fps capped at 60 and did some fiddling aroind in the graphics settings and the game still looks great and runs fine. Its nice that it actually shows the performance changes when you fiddle with the settings too, more games should do that

Yeah it seems that some select few people are actually not having issues. Most however... I capped at 60 and went Nintendo 64 graphics and the game crashes like 10 time per playthrough.😢 I can't even get any new skills because it now crashes 100 percent of the time on that menu

It's just for lazy people and barely anyone buys them. Their other previous games also had these. You're acting like this is the first time Capcom did it. If what you said is true, then Capcom's more recent games should.have paywalled content by now, and yet it doesn't happen. You guys are singling out Dragon's Dogma 2 for some reason. Stopping where they should? There’s a lack of endgame content and a 12 level cap you can hit at the start of act 3. The game needs more progression. DLC or expansion would solve that. You get all the cool gear and the game is over and there’s no NG or anything to keep going. For me starting new playthroughs over and over became a slog

Heres how I feel on DD2. First I understand the concern of the Micros, it opens the door for other shit to be added that will sour the game/industry. That being said I think it told me about them once at the beginning of the game and thats it, they don’t have pop ups for them or anything. I forgot about them the second I left the first camp. I was not caught off guard by them either I remember seeing something about them at least a week before launch. The FPS issues are definitely bad for the lower end PC’s and even higher end ones. Me personally I played 25 hours non stop without crashing once. I don’t know if it matters/helps but I did not update to the latest Nvidia drivers, so give that a shot if you are crashing. And personally the video mentions it’s not cosmetic micros it’s in game items. And if Im choosing between the items that are currently in the store and cosmetics I’m choosing whats in the store now. Cosmetics IMO are A even more slippery slope. I averaged around 50-60+ frames in open world and 20-35 in city’s with maxed settings as well as ray tracing. My PC Specs: i9 9900k, Asus ROG 4080 super, 64g DDR4 3200, gigabyte z390 Aorus ultra motherboard.

When it comes to Baldur's Gate 3 Larian did say from the start they had no intention of doing DLC for it and it's actually perfectly fine, the game story is good as it is, it has a satisfying ending to it all with the epilogue as well, there's no reason to potentially ruin it with DLC. As for the fact there won't be a Baldur's Gate 4 that's more of a shame given the nod to Amn in the ending of BG 3, but was expecting as much. Wasn't expecting them to do Baldur's Gate 4 right away of course, but was hoping someday they would go back to the IP. Nonetheless, I'm excited to see what they cook up next. I had heard they wanted to do Divinity Original Sin 3 but a new IP that's not tied to Divinity sounds exciting, I'm all for something new and fresh in this age of sequels, reboots and remakes

Apparently there is a way to start fresh by deleting some files in the Steam folder, you also have to disable Cloud Storage. They don’t force you to buy it though. You can still use ox cart to fast travel from town to town. The ferrystones are what essentially buying. You miss out on alot of the game with fast travel so I don’t really mind it cause I’m not buying them. Plus you can find them in game. I’ve found about 5-6

@@chrisbaker9924 no one is forcing is a bad argument as it still negatively effects the gameplay and in most cases also the gamedesign. the games actively becomes worse with microtransactions when they exclude things that should be in the game at launch and manipulate the progression to only work as intended and be "fun" if you buy in to the microtransactions. ultimately you have to pay way more money for the same amount of content after you already payed full price when you buy a new game compared to older games when you got a complete and fun game at launch. its anti consumer practises. so no i don't need to buy in to it but i also don't buy the game when i don't get a complete game if i pay full price for it.

Ferrystones cost too much to use the portcrystals at the start of the game and you dont even start finding them until like 5-10 hours into the game. Everything else is just straight up buyable with gold or rift crystals which you can earn in game and cant/dont have to buy.

Question on the MTX stuff in DD2. Theyre listed as DLC, not an in game shop deal. Cant you only buys those once? Like how other rpg games like the Tales series has booster packs that give you a a head start but you cant endlessly buy them to get you through the game. I havent played it yet so i dont know the specifics. But if its like just one off boosters that, to me, is less egregious. And I i already don't particularly feel anything about mtx anymore already so.

CAPCOM is KNOWN for doing this with every game and no one has complained. Every single MTX is obtainable EASILY within the game, so I really don't see the issue. I feel like this will only get worse for single-player games down the line. When will it stop? If we tolerate it now, who knows how much eggregious it will be down the line? Every mechanic or consumable will be behind some kind of paywall in the future and that is not a future I can get behind. Remember, 10 years ago, you didn't pay for these features, you pay the full price of the game and you get the whole game, no paywall. Capcom normalizing it is anti-consumer, if you ask me. I am fairly new to the PC stuff. I been running through older games like Far Cry 5 and The Witcher 3 with amazing graphics. Dragons Dogma 2 has been really enjoyable so far. I have been playing it two days so far. The pawn system is really cool, i think the camp site stuff is pretty easy. It works on your listening skilks and looking at the maps. I am about 12-16 hours in. I do like the challenge but that it’s not as brutal as a Souls game. Lol 😂 I was gearing up before hand thinking it might be close to it.

Capcom puts mtx in all their games, and will put it in the next one with new ways of monetizing. They will do so to see how much they can get away with. Oblivion horse armor was "fine" because it is just cosmetics with no other purpose. Now DD2 items are no longer just cosmetics but actual consumables, but they are "fine" because they can be earned in game. This goal post will keep shifting until one day it is no longer "fine". And it will be "not fine" to you, but still "fine" to another group who has been acclimated to this culture of mtx. If game companies play their cards right, they can really push this far and always have a group of people defending them.

Even the first Dragon's Dogma had microtransactions. There isn't a microtransaction link or store in-game, so I didn't even know about it until seeing this video. Honestly, you don't need microtransactions to finish the game or make it enjoyable. The frame rate issue hasn't been a problem while playing on my Xbox series X. A few hiccups while in towns and large battles is all I've noticed and I'm level 30 with about 20 hours of gameplay. The framerate will be patched up at some point and people just need to chill in general. Peace

What's really annoying is how he was so adamant about supporting women in the video game industry at the time yet he bullied Amy Hennig into leaving the studio and took her projects (Uncharted 4).
