They already said you dont have to worry about min/maxing. Change vocation and your stats will change to match. You have base stats, and then your vocation gets bonus stats to match what you have equipped. Swap vocations, stats swap as well.

I considered refunding the game because of the stats. Its nice its better than the first but I wanted to see the permanent stat gains to go away completely... game would be way more enjoyable and less tedious. Now I need to delete my thief and start as a fighter then play warrior till at least lvl 100 so I don't have terrible max health. I just want to play thief and not worry about it.

I really can't decide between archer and sorcerer. I love, love the mobility of jumping around as an archer. But I also love the visual feats of being a mage. I didn't play the first, but I wonder how inefficient it is to bounce between roles. One thing I has struggle with these role-based games is I hate the idea of not being able to experience everything in one playthrough!

You will have that ability to switch whenever. If you don't care about an absolute min/max build then try out every vocation. It's not like DD1 where it has a decent impact on final stats with which vocations you level as.

if the demos are to be believed, it doesn't matter what vocations you level at all because when you swap vocations the game looks at your level and convets all you stats to what they would have been if you were the new vocation for all of those levels. so long as you have the right type of weapon and comparable armor you're good to go. if this video isn't wrong and stat reallocation was just a demo thing, that kind of sucks. hmm less agro and life steal from kills, yeah i will level thief for those augments for sure. even if thief isn't really my style. drenching enemies with water also makes it easier to use the statuses from lightning and ice elemental attacks. hmm archer cimbs faster while thief usese less stamina while climbing, some nice synergy for a thief there. mage in this game always has the healing spell, it replaces the heavy attack. both heavy attacks for mage an sorcerer were useless in dd1 so them getting replaced with impactful things is great. frost, fire, or lightning boon? pretty sure there are 2 more. should also have holy and dark boon spells. hmm will the haste buff also work on casting? so your sorcerer can cast even faster or use galvanize to regen stamina even faster with this buff from a mage? oh the reduced max health loss is from warrior, not fighter? okay then, some reason for me to dabble in warrior is fine.

From the general understanding of people that have played the game you have core stats and leveled stats. Switching Vocations changes your baseline stats, but you get some benefit for leveling in a vocation over another as sort of bonus allocated stats. Think of them like stats you get to allocate yourself compared to the innate stats you get upon leveling in other games.

It's probably just gonna be a magic archer, just like in DDDA, where nine-fold shot and Ricochet Hunter rekted everyone and everything. I was planning to do mystic knight and use my magic cannon playstyle but it looks like my cannon build has been removed from the game since MK isn't in DD2, if mystic Spearman has magic cannon then I guess I use that if not then I'll go magic archer

I wouldn’t be too worried about the stat growth, especially since there will be some free stat adjustment in the game when you switch vocations. Stat min/maxing didn’t matter too much in the grand scheme of things in the first game either, since gear stats far outweighed any kind of OCD with min/maxxing stats with vocation levels.

Min-maxing sort of mattered if you cared how your character looked or how much they weighed where better gear tended to weigh more. Whilst the Dragonforged Gear did a lot of the heavy lifting the stats actually did matter depending on how you played the first game.

Magic Archer isn't really an Archer "advanced" vocations it's a hybrid vocation and Fighter is a Sword and Board whilst Warrior is a DPS class focused on heavy strikes. Mage is utility vs Sorcerer being Magic DPS through spells. The "advanced" vocations really aren't just "better" versions of the lower classes. In the previous games this was sort of true as well where Strider had some of the best skills in the game and not all of them were able to be passed along, Mages were the only ones that could heal and Fighters were still Defense focused.

They stated that the BASE stats are tied to whatever vocation you level up which doesn't necessarily mean that you don't get some bonus stats by playing a specific class. If you level as a Warrior you could very well get +2 strength that carries over or something similar even if the majority of your stats get converted if you play as a mage. So a Warrior that has been a Warrior the entire time might have 100 Strength and 10 Magick and a Warrior that became a Warrior from being a Mage might have 90 Strength that 20 Magick, the base stats rearrange some things, but you keep a certain level of bonus stats from your vocation that'd make BOTH statements true and allow some degree of builds to exist rather than removing stat builds ENTIRELY.

You do get class based bonus stats, it's marginal and not nearly as rough as dd1 but at level 70 I've got about an 80 point difference in STR specifically on two warrior pawns in identical gear.

Since I've been following this game I've heard from multiple sources that theres is no hard mode. I've watched a lot of content so it would be hard to link you a video with a specific timestamp to confirm that. Also one of the people that leaked gameplay early, was answering spoiler free questions in the comments and said the difficulty was adaptive, reminescent of something they did in Resident Evil 4 remake, were the game adapts to your preformance, so if you're doing really bad the game will lower the difficulty.

To revive it's a hold button prompt, but they added group revive so you can revive multiple allies if they're close. Also Warrior doesn't get a Shield the Fighter does.

Base stats as in your actual stats everything runs off will be lower, so you will deal less damage than the equivalent class would.

Perfect blocking is just as satisfying as it was in DD1 with figher. Maxed out Archer first, I was assuming from the start the stat growth would prioritize stamina like in dd1, and I have yet to have any stamina issues on my fighter, which is the one issue I've heard people playing fighter mentoin, so maybe put some time into Archer for stam growth. Archer is also just a blast to play and Ill do a playthrough on that class next I think. Probably gonna pump some levels into thief before I continue leveling as fighter to get some extra strength and the Augment. As long as you learn to parry well you don't really need to prioritize defensive stats like health and def/mdef, yes you can parry magic attacks. The most fun though with fighter is shield bashing enemies off mountains.

It's not deal breaking but sad that they took daggers away from everything that had daggers but thief and erased mystic knight and especially ranger advanced vocation, that shit allowed me to beat Death on Bitterblack isle by stun locking him repeatedly until he fell off a narrow bridge to his demise .

to be perfectly fair, mage only had a few unique spells, and with you being able to keep huge quantities of curatives with you, there was few reason to use mage over Sorcerer, because sorcerer had a cleanse, so the only major unique draw of the mage was Grapnel, and a lot of people just didn't see the value in it

If stats sadly do matter like dd1 prolly do 3 playthroughs physical magic and hybrid lvling. Or just hope modders fix it like they did in dd1

30fps is lowest apparently on ps5, partial variable seems it’s upwards of 45 in open world, stable 30 in big settlements. Variable is misleading cause the game has “set” fps based on location for performance and stable graphics. On pc without fully optimized kit people were getting 15 fps in towns and 30 in open world. So unless you have a new pc, ps5 is still a safe stable way to enjoy the game, same with Xbox

From the stress testing I watched PS5 run between 30-50 lowest dip was a 27
