I love both monologues of The Dragon and The Watching one. They are both exact opposites of their DD1 counterparts. This dragons wants the cycle to end so he can as well, while Grigori took his role with honor. Savan wanted the Arisen to end him thus setting him free while the watching one loves their position and the power they have over the world, they love “watching” our Arisen’s adventure like it’s entertainment to them.

Only mistake here unfortunately is that Rothais is actually the seneschal, not the Watching One. However, in his abandonment of the duties of Seneschal, the Watching One took over those duties. But because the Watching One is completely unqualified to be Seneschal, the Dragon that he creates grows disillusioned with the cycle, and urges you to end all of it.

This is in my opinion the greatest ending soundtrack to any videogame.

I noticed that if you get a high pawn affinity, the soundtrack at 4:15 changes a bit, amazing details.

Yes, there's an extra piano theme if your pawn has high affinity, extending that bit. Wish we had that one too. It's even more beautiful.

"Time has seen worlds uncountable created, only to be snuffed out like candles by the cold breath of Oblivion. Eventually, the Great Will grew tired of witnessing this, and sought to overturn Oblivion by granting unto this world a role. A duty. An identity. "I speak of the Dragon. "By the Great Will does the Dragon create a cycle, allowing it to forestall the end of this world time and time again. Yes, Arisen, this world has been safeguarded by the dragon all along. You yourself were chosen to form a part of this cycle. The Arisen is selected by the Great Will to play the Dragon's counterpart. This is how the world is built. The Dragon serves to continue the cycle, and the Arisen exists to oppose it. "This is the true meaning of The Dragon's Dogma."

This is a brutal mistranslation that kinda butchers the actual lore btw. The correct translation from Japanese is: ''A cycle that has repeated countless times... a world is born, and then erased by nothingness. Eventually, a will that fought against nothingness was born. That will obtained a role. ...That of The Dragon. The Dragon, through his will, caused flux in nothingness, slowing down annihilation. That's right. The world you know of exists because it had been protected by The Dragon. The Awakened (Arisen) is an existence that was chosen by the Great Will to be a foil to The Dragon. This circular cycle between Dragon and Awakened constructed this world. That is Dragon's Dogma." Which strongly changes the entire meaning of Dragon's Dogma as a series. The Arisen and Dragon are not on one side or the other. They are both part of a system that has them locked in perpetual combat because the fallout of their battle of wills basically keeps the world wherein it takes place turning. The Dragon's Will stalls annihilation, while the Great Will creates an Arisen whose own will in contest with the Dragon is able to create and maintain.

@@BulldogFromHell Wow I actually love this version a hell of a lot more
@BulldogFromHell4 ай бұрын
@@kingjules8744 Same. It's a shame the translation was done so poorly. It seems the only people who didn't like the True Ending were upset at the lore, because it seemingly retcons DD1. But the right translation shows that it hasn't retconned DD1 at all.

@@BulldogFromHellwhat's funny about that is that I actually interpreted the dialogue to be like what you're saying. I never got the feeling that the arisen and dragon weren't equal parts of the cycle

Self serving nihilism. He can, so he forces us to repeat the cycle over and over again. The point of Dragon's Dogma was to show the Gods that not even they are above basic decency and what it brings when you treat people without it.

Uploader, I’ve been trying to figure which song is used on the Story trailer they uploaded before the came out. I had this hunch it would’ve been the 2nd main menu song cause it sounds similar but then there was no vocals. The story trailer song did have it. If you could reply with the name if you know I would love that! Thanks!
