This game was one of the most underrated and underappreciated games in the last 15 years. It's fun, easy to play, and beautiful. It's 2 major drawbacks were having only one cloud save and missing content because 40% of story and game content were left out by the devs.

Here is some advice for everyone. Stand in front of the chest and order the pawn with the “go” order and they will open the chest :) allowing you to use them as bait. Or become a Magick Archer and set yourself on fire :) cheers

you should also grab ring of preserverance, it's behind one of the moonbeam gem doors, it speeds up vocation leveling.

Once you break the 4 pillars on the Gazers special attack it leaves behind an orb that acts like a great cannon, so use that instead of the throwblasts for as long as it lasts.

I've just started playing the game again - I had no idea it had been remastered until seeing the game in a PSN sale, which shows Capcom have dropped the ball on marketing - and I've fallen in love all over again. I'd never done the DLC either, so that's all new to me. Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for showing me something I'd never realised. Namely that Throwblast is actually worth using. I've never, ever bothered with throwables in the game. Probably because the menu system for them is fiddly. I just sell them. Not anymore. This will make early Ring Of Perseverance runs much less nerve wracking.

I'm level 107 on hardcore bbi and switch between maxed out saving grace, carnation, dragons dogma, dragons ire, dragons pain weapons and even the very first little dogs you fight when you get to bbi are hard as fuck to kill Lol

The start is the worst on hardcore. You can get oneshot by a goblin.

The giant in that one room can be killed if you play a sorcerer with the glacier spell. lower him to the hallway and plot your back right towards the wall he can almost hit you but as long as you stay near the wall you should be able to plet him that spell over and over again.

So I just cleared the room of everyone else mostly and just stood on top of the little wooden planks and just smoked him from up above and rained down sorcerer spells on him. Was a level 49 sorcerer , after 10 level fighter and now am going to switch to assassin and go back so I’m sure it’s not gonna be that easy this time 😅

I actually use the "Go" command to force the pawn to open the chests. It almost always works and really helps.

Once I reach the rooms where I know a man eater might be lurking, I usually stand near the chests and wait for my pawns to be bait as they open it. Better they die than me since I can resurrect them :)

The route to farm weapon level 2 was not a clear route. I had 2 mages tossing spells at me as soon as I walked into room. Turns out the first 2 chest you showed us in that room each had a mage. I'm unsure why you didn't have mages there but maybe it is because it is my first time ever in that area. I also had a monster of some sort but he was easy to avoid, very slow guy. I loved following your route through this. I started at level 20 something and finished at level 50+. I did kill a few more things than shown in video since I could, but finishing quest also helped. I was really surprised I gained so many levels. All I was looking for was a superior weapon and got a bunch of levels in the process. It was just fun for me running by all those guys that wanted to murder me and laugh as I got passed the area they were suppose to be guarding. Anyway good video.

You can kill everything in the first area as a lvl 10 fighter without using throwback. Just remember to use curatives and revive your pwns. I used a Striderpwn, Rangerpwn(mine) and a Magepwn.

As a sorcerer learn Magick Bolt and Holy Affinity. Cast Holy Affinity on yourself (unsure if you can click in the sticks on Switch but that's how you change targeting) then charge up magick bolt. That does a lot of damage to rhe gazer when you hit its eye. It can be a pain in the ass to actually LAND on the eye though. But alternative in case you can't afford enough throwblasts

I have a strategy or something of the sorts. Always check Pawn Skills and their knowledge. People assume that because they are high level they have knowledge of a lot more, but that's not always the case. Always check their knowledge and see if it fits your criteria. If your sick of looking around for a Mage that doesn't have every spell you need, make your Pawn into a Mage and tailor it to your benefit so you don't spend hours looking for that perfect Mage. Because I absolutely love customization in games, I like to make my character look absolutely badass. Most outfits I use sometimes have no armor but look great and sometimes I have like no torso but some armor everywhere else.

I have almost level 50 now and i can deal with the gargoyle and the other skeletons in the key room, but for certain need some time to drop the big guy. He totally destroyed me the first few tries with his club even when i was hiding in the entrance. But i found that if i go above him on one of those wooden bridges i can spam bolts at him until he dies without being able do damage to me or my pawns in any way as he can't hit upwards and my pawns move out of his reach too, moving between me and him, as my position is not on the same plane with him.

The 1st BBI walkthrough's chests may contain weapons/armor lv.1, Until you kill Dark Bishop for d'1st time, and after that, many chests contain lv.2 weapons/armors (after Forsaken Cathedral of course). Lvl.3 weapons/armors appears after you kill Daimon 1st form

Thanks! 👍🏻 A very informative Basic Guide to acquiring BitterBlack items without wasting time to kill the enemies like Gazer or the one that petrifies enemies and to save before looting the chest... I didn’t care in my play through, I collected it and continued, even though I revealed almost the whole map but may need to do it each time I re-enter. I’m a Sorcerer no, Level 38 I think in too many hours, stared as a Mage, then changed to Magic Archer, which I want to be/stay as (overpowered mage). I sold so much junk I collected and got 2million in-game money but sold required crimson plate and crafting items by mistake. I could kill the wyrms though and the undead with Holy Light Spell or scattered Large Red Blast Barrels I would like to see your normal Walkthrough like as if you are playing normally.

Downloaded this for the first time ever on my Steam Deck. Came to Bitterblack isle assuming it was where I supposed to go this early. I’m like level 13. I foolishly tried to fight everything I came across and was constantly wrecked over and over. I could not grasp how I would be so under leveled, not realizing that this place is NOT meant for beginners. What a treat though. The sense of adventure is palpable in this game. It’s too damn good. The way Maneaters seem to work in the Gutter of Misery, in my experience, is that per entering there is only one Maneater (and almost every chest in there, if not all, has a chance to harbor one). If you save and then reload, it can potentially move to a different chest. You can essentially lock it to a specific chest with loot you don't want, then safely open all remaining chests, granted you have not saved and then reloaded since. The one in Ward of Regret seems to be permanently locked to the chest near the water, before the "bat cave". Anyhow, thanks for these videos Ser LemonEatingKow. It's so much fun looting BBI when you're not really supposed to!

For anyone newer that's trying to do this early -- don't carry this many throwblasts with you. You're going to be returning to duskmoon and the starter area several times to reset, and you can just pull more throwblasts out of storage when you do. Carry enough for a run through, and try to keep your weight at Light.

For anyone needing gold early on, buy the gold increasing periapt from Barroch in Duskmoon Tower, and kill all of the deer and rabbits in the area while the effect is active. You easily make profit off of this and hard mode resetting lets you do it repeatedly

I played normally until I got to the point I could steal from the imprisoned gorecyclops to farm gold, then I cheated 50 million gold into my inventory. This was the best way to do it imo and would recommend others do it as well, just like modding out the carrying capacity mechanic which is both tedious and also incentives skipping every monster.

this spell he casts, the one when 4 eye-tentacles pop out and channel it - you can just run away to the top of the level, just near the entrance. There's this wall when you go down the stairs from the door, where to the left is the opening where you trigger the gazer. On one run, when I was really low level, I didn't want to risk it and ran to the top, and the it didn't reach me. Though you need to be after the first opening to be completely safe.

also, when you kill gazer, you should use a martyr's talisman, you can buy one from Bannon or whatever for 35000 gold, and it gives you 2x exp. Or buy pilgrim's charm (small note - the wiki says you can only buy them in post-game, but I could buy them earlier. not sure why) in Gran Soren. Probably from Fournival. And you should buy a lot of stuff from him to make your life much easier. For example the Conqueror's Charm that gives you a lot of bonus STR

Purify the bitterblack items you get. They are bonus abilities, but none are really worth grinding for.

The thing with trowblasts is that you won't up much of your ranking with your class. It's possible on level 30 or 40 max out a vocation.

There is an orphan challange where you make a child, go through the story make your "parent" kill them (and rook), discard everything you have (inn inventory too) and then go to BBI. Being a child makes it far harder and you are solo (can summon pawns only after daimon kill same with leaving BBI). So yea seems fun (i did something similar but with an adult, i LOVE *LOLI* as main pawn but i make myself adult or old.).

I know this is a vod of a really old stream but for someone who has apparently been through the game a lot the Gazer fight was embarrassing. He literally cannot ever hit you and all it takes is to wait for tentacles to spawn and then stand on the stairs the whole fight and throw throwblasts at his eye. Turn around for gaze attack and kill the summoning tentacles when he phases at half health or so and voila.

Love your vids. Just a tip since you do a lot of restarting for videos: you can actually disable the tutorial popups in the options. I noticed them popping up in a couple of vids now, didn't know if you knew they could be disabled. It's a minor annoyance at best but I think once you disable them, they're disabled for good (unless you re-enable them). Thanks for all the videos btw.

I know this videos all you probably know this by now but pawns will open the man-eater chest. I know it's really messed up but that's all I have my Pawn do and then me as a warrior I hit it really really hard.

The biggest problem doing bbi early is you'll be so weak you'll most likely run from every single non essential encounter and as a result you pawn will be as dumb as a rock when cycle 2 hits and that's where the true bbi experience begins is after you defeat Daimon and run through again. but now you can't because your pawn is useless, enemies are tougher, and you won't have the resources to grow on this character. your entire experience is destroyed the only fix is to start over on a new character or grind the hard way to fix it for hundreds of hours. Trust me you can beat bbi early but it is not worth it!

The Dragon's Dogma Wiki is amazing even back when Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen first came out the Dragon's Dogma Wiki was always completely filled with useful information with very little errors. I just kind of remember that are blackout from when I play this game the first time but it's not all that hard I went to bitterblack Isle around the same level you are now and I just push through always become a warrior and then I level up as Warrior to get the increase of Health my problem is I don't have a lot of stamina the only thing that I don't fight is the Giant in the area and gargoyles but I just know from experience he will wreck a team. I literally make my pawns do anything dangerous. I don't leave until I can sleep run out of healing item which I don't really worry about because I can just get a healing Pawn. If you ever need extra gold- when you first enter the black abbey follow the wall on the left, there can be up to 25k gold. Just tossing that out there.

I took me like 45 mins to kill a dragon in the jungle with 2 hired pawns, they (Mage and Sorcerer) didn’t help much but when they do, they cause so much damage to like wolves, undead etc and some to cyclops etc, how do you kill the large griffin easily? If you have walkthroughs For Dragons’s Age inquisition, I could Watch it to find out how I can be an overpowered Mage in it and have Knight Enchant Mage Build whether if I update loot and upgrade for my party/team

Idk bout after nerfs to Spirit Blade, but my setup was always a self crafted lightning staff with Fade Touched Silverite for the 5 guard on hit and armor that has the Fade Touched to constantly regen 1% health per second. My setup was Spirit Blade, the early AoE fire spell, chilling grasp, fade step, the 12 shot spell that uses your staff element (which is lightning), barrier, and the KE's focus ability to heal. Rely on fade step to get to safety when needed. With that setup i took on the highest level dragon in the base game at only level 17 (pre patches)

Collect ore dropped from goblins and shackles from bandits, you can craft skeleton keys by combining them :) If you are a lower level and have time on your hands (and are a mage or archer type class) you can fight the giant gorecyclopes and take little to no damage if you stand up on the wooden bridge and attack it from above.

Not that there is stamina in the game Willow, but that was the first game I remember from the early 90's using a high level sword (from cheat codes) and it swinging super slow if you were at a low level. Of course it would swing faster as you leveled, but it sucked too. 😂
