i had to give up Rook as he just wasn't capable enough with skills. but the 2 other pawns I hired in his stead I became very attached to and gave them equipment like they were second and third main pawns, that's the story of how a level 16 warrior did 50% of the damage against Grigori and how a level 40 mage came in clutch 15+ on bitterblack isle!

It's sad that only main pawns level up with us. It would be awesome to have rook level up as well

A fitting song to finish things off with. I really liked the pages flipping by, showing the pawns I used most during my adventure. I still remember one Scather/Guardian warrior pawn by the name of Ishkandubal that I stuck with for most of the game. He saved my Sorcerer arisen more times than I can count. I liked watching the guy heroically tear things down so much that it inspired me to replay the game as a warrior myself later on.

I had a Ranger named Adrian and she was the BEST. Always on the front lines with me guarding my mage main pawn. She'd always follow up with an arrow after i broke somethings guard or take on opponents that were much tankier than her because she knew i had to go and revive the others. I miss her. Wish i could level her up as well.

This really touched my heart after finishing the game. The sad, endless of the Arisen is a cruel fate for those who find themselves stuck in that eternity. Counting those other endless worlds and dimensions tied to the Rift, million others are being swept away by this current. It might sound dumb, but this game leaves me to contemplate over the story and its hidden meanings. There's several flaws, but that's what makes every game unique. I probably won't ever get tired of this game.

Now this was the most awesome part of the game. The toy box and lulabye-like sounding music with the book confirms one thing....you've acened into legend, a page in the history books and become an icon.

it hurt to finish the game a second time, to let go of my first Arisen. took me a damn long age too, because I wanted to let him be the Seneschal a little bit longer, until I was ready. truly, man's desire to achieve and succeed and overcome is the driving force of the world, fantasy or reality.
@werewolfie12633 жыл бұрын
In and of itself, replaying the game is cursing your Arisens to the cycle
@werewolfie12632 жыл бұрын
@@scarlet_phonavis6734 Quina and Mercedes and Julien being alive and replaying the same roles kills immersion but you have to remember this game was released unfinished. There would simply be TOO much to do in one single Arisen cycle, each playthrough would be fresher
@uggachugga7602 жыл бұрын
@@scarlet_phonavis6734 The way I take it, NG+ is not *entirely* canon. I personally think that you really did break the cycle in NG and that NG+ is just a "what if the Arisen didn't end it." The way I see it, every world in Dragon's Dogma shares a single Seneschal, this is supported by some concept art which shows how every world is stacked on each other, all sharing one moon where the Seneschal was supposed to reside, and in NG+ online the Seneschal is always the last Arisen who beat the game. So basically NG+ is another world where the Arisen meets the other Arisen/Seneschal from the first NG world in this "what if" scenario and makes sense why the events occur exactly the same.

The memories, the adventure, the friendships, the community ... This game changed my life. Thank you for everything, Dragon's Dogma. Thank you for being there during the good, the bad, and the ugly times through-out my life. You helped me become the man I am today. You made me smile, you made me laugh, and sometimes you even made me cry. But I wouldn't change it for anything. Thank you, Hideaki Itsuno, and thank you Capcom. Anyone reading this comment, when it comes to Dragon's Dogma... Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened. :)

6 years later and I did a playthrough of this game again. Everything about it holds up so well and I'm glad I was able to enjoy it even more now than I did years ago. Here's hoping for DD2 :)

@Michael Harrington Dragon's Dogma 2 will come inevitably. When Hideaki was given the choice to make DD2 or DMC 5, it was a coin flip and he went with the latter. However he has said that DD is one of his most proud creations and is open to the prospect of a second game. Give it time. DMC 5 only just released at the beginning of this year. I'm sure we'll hear a DD2 announcement somewhere down the line at E3.
@Elunev5 жыл бұрын
@@CelestialDraconis I really like to follow this because I can only hope DD2 comes with his fully realized dreams and with Capcom's full financial backings. I wouldn't claim to be some prodigious prophet of how the gaming industry and market will be, but I feel like an existential and spiritually substantial RPG like Dragon's Dogma is widely in demand, especially when such a game encompasses the kind of gameplay that Dragon's Dogma does. I truly believe that, if the team behind Dragon's Dogma was allowed to have another go at it with proper resources, we would truly see something special. Either way, I look forward to whatever Capcom has in store for this franchise. It's very special in a lot of ways, given that people still listen to its soundtrack years later like any of the classical games.
@CelestialDraconis5 жыл бұрын
@@Elunev Dragon's Dogma is a special game to many, including myself, and we haven't had something like it in almost a decade. Not even The Witcher 3 captured the feel of DD. Despite all the flaws, like the shallow fetch quests, 0 character depth, and the hilarious yet broken romance system, the game still has a certain charm to it that other games don't have. And no this isn't just my rose-tinted glasses talking either. I replayed the whole game a few months back and it was just as good as I remembered it. I just hope Capcom doesn't decide to fill the sequel with microtransactions. They did that with vanilla DD before scrapping it and making everything free in the remaster. Paying money for rift crystals were absolutely ridiculous.

just a fun little update: I finally got enough interest in DDDA again to actually sit down and get the rest of the achievements and do NG+ to see my old characters that i'd nearly forgotten at this point. turns out it's been exactly two years since i beat the game last time. it's moving to see the characters you entrusted the world to fulfilling their duty all this time while you are just out there living your own life i don't wanna seem pretentious but the themes in DD's ending are so far ahead of their time, i only hope that we eventually get to a point where people can appreciate things like this. this game makes such an impressive point on so many topics from behavior and leadership (eminent/great man theory) to many ideas in philosophy (cycles, rebirth, even dramaturgy to an extent) i hope i can keep coming back to this game over time and gain more insight from it each time, it's why this is my favorite game despite its many flaws
@ccenia11 жыл бұрын
*SPOILERS* In truth there are many other dimensions, universes and areas regarding the cycle (hence the idea of how Pawns go about within the rift). As the Rift is taken literally in the story (not some game function, mind you), there are still many worlds and universes with the cycle still ongoing, and thus, the cycle never ends. Don't forget, Savan, the original Seneschal, had pulled the Godsbane from his own body too. You'd think after thousands of years, he wouldn't stab himself to end it.

My god this pierces right at the heart. An absolute serenity with a touch of sorrow, a song of ending struggle. A bittersweet echo of all that has been lost, deep, and sad, but remembered with a fondness only those left standing will understand, while everyone else only have what comes next in mind.

This RPG has my utmost respect. Considering it has been one of the most addicting in terms of gameplay and the search for stronger foes. The sales of this game didnt do to great in the US. But hopefully over time considering that fact, the game itself becomes a gem. The only real downside to the game itself is that capcom is sucking me dry of funds to purchase DLC's and I originally thought the game was to be produced as a multiplayer, which would have epic on another level.Aww well. GAME ROCKS!

Well i bought it day one. And a ton of my friends bought it day one, and I hadn't heard much talk amongst them about this game prior to release. Though I was stoked. I feel it is a good start for an rpg published by capcom, and the game definitely has a good strong fan base. I am as a pawn to this game, lol, I will follow it to the ends of the world. They should name the fans pawns. Lol
