Love this style of video. Really entertaining to watch. I also really like the wide handheld long takes with camera from the same angle that most of the video is filmed in with this format, because I find it much easier to follow where the models are in relation to one another. I also love how Sean explains his thought process, particularly with the ingenious objective-or-fireball-to-Thror dilemma. Top notch battle report imo.

Good format! Especialy because you are mixing it up with the competitive style of the conquest champïons. Both are fun. What i like about it is: - You guys explain what you do, we know what goes through your mind and that pulls you in even more - The narrative style. The dragon defending the treasure here for example is so themy, really fun. - You guys just seem to have alot of fun yourself and that spreads to us! Idea for another narrative one: a group of rangers is tracking a large group of orcs, trolls and wargs that are raiding villages north of Bree. They cant deal with it alone and call in help from Rivendell. Glorfindell comes to the rescue and lead a group of elves and rangers to face them. It turns out there is a huge troll from the ettenmoors leading them. Could be the mordor troll chieftain or Burhdur. You could let them fight over some Arnor ruins and you still can use your Tor Ithalas ruins set.

Don’t give up on that Arkenstone!! I’ve survived a Blade Wrathed Rutabi which did 7 wounds to me, survived all of it with Arkenstone. It’ll take you to deep waters mate. Awesome video, really loved the thematic games, it’s super fun to watch

After this game I am totally convinced on Dragons being 100% viable. They have some hard counters but the combination of the hitting power maneuverability and the fire breath is huge

I understand completely why people dislike the dragon, but the fly and flame breath build definitely does work, your biggest concern is if your opponent has a bunch of S3/4 bows just for the random chip that causes the flee. Honestly with Shelob and Gulavhar being popular despite being glass cannons the dragon hate has always seemed silly to me.

there's one way to run a dragon thats reliably worth his points, and sadly its none of the cool ones. ironhide and wings. saves the will for survival, not that much gets through D9 with 3 fate. fly to get the charge, and that tasty tasty ten dice to wound. at basic d7 you can end up rolling a LOT of instinct saves, particularly from s3 shooting, and the base makes fly pretty much a necessity. but thats for pure mechanical advantage. and if you run a dragon that's not your priority motivation 🤣for fun flame breath is definitely the way to go.

Thanks for the comment. I totally disagree. I don't think that tough hide is ever worth it. You get the D9 and 9 wounds but you will almost always flee before you go through all 9 so you are basically paying 50 points for +2 defense. It provides no extra tactical options and is only important if you are in positions where you are taking damage. With a 12' fly you should almost always be able to have in the ways from shooting and breathe fire provides a huge tactical option that plays really well with Moria. You enemy simply doesn't have the option to bunch up and hold choke points. Even if you don't end up using it all game you have completely changed how your opponent had to approach the game. This game is a great example. If the dragon had tough hide he would have been significantly worse, I could have formed my battle line and annihilated the goblins while the dragon can only be at one place at a time.

@@ConquestCreations thanks for replying. i totally disagree with your disagreement 🤣against this specific army yeah fire was better. no real range threats, nothing really fast enough to catch it. but army of thror is a bit of an outlier. im talking about a build that works consistently against pretty much anyone. at d7, even something as cheap as 2-3 gondor knights could pin you against terrain and half kill you with an average role (3 knights charging gives 6 attack so out dicing you, doubling to 12 for trap, wounding on 5s for 4 wounds) if you'v already dropped a couple will for fireballs its very possible that dragon is just gone. at 600+ where you are likely to see dragons, shooting armies have enough bows/Xbows to wound d7 consistently, even with an in the way. and its hard to hide a dragon base completely. boltthowrs wound on 4s, ballista on 3s. lots of wounds, lots of tests and no will to stop casters apart from RM free one. you need to be so cagey with your movement that you are basically spending 350 for a mordor catapult that can only fire 3 times at most. could ally two in for less than that. D9 changes ALL that. and saving the will for courage means you go from a 1 in 4 chance of failing a test, to a 1 in 12 chance, you can actually tank 7-8 wounds and stick around. (unless your rolling is truly dire) plus you are taking half as many tests. as for the tactical aspects, forcing me to fight goblins 1v1 (if you gang up i group up there as well, fireball if you want) at basically equal numbers is not a particularly terrifying situation.
