Dragon X9 Speed Test Review. In this review video of the Sanlida Dragon X9, I shoot the bow with a 350 grain arrow through a chorongraph at the 31 inch draw length down to the 24 inch draw length. The draw length range of the Dragon X9 goes down to 18 inches, but since this bow is intended more for adults, I imagined most adults would have a 24 inch or longer draw length. If you would like to order a Dragon X9 Compound bow, you can use this affiliate link to go to their direct website - www.sanlidaout...

I have had excellent customer service from Sanlida! They are very responsive and care very much about their customers satisfaction. I will continue to be a repeat customer! Just ordered some of their Dragon x10 arrows.

Excellent and thorough review - thank you Sean! Maybe we can see some shot groupings with the X8 and X9. As you know, I have the X8. It is my first bow, so I don't have anything to compare it to. But so far I have to say that it is a lot of fun to shoot, and after 2 years I think the bow is still better than the operator. I upgraded the strings and installed a whisker biscuit, and bought a buckle wrist strap for the release. With the new wrist strap, I think the release works a lot better! No kills yet, but you'll be one of the first to know (after me and the deer...).

I have the dragon x8 and I noticed that my actual draw weight was far away (60.4lbs) from the spec 68lbs @29" draw. I did add some twist to the cables to bring it up to the 68lbs but it dropped my ATA to 29.5". The cam timing was also off and not able to be corrected with cable twists. Closest I can get it is 1/8-1/4" away for one cam. If I put a half twist in the cable to try to correct it the gap then goes to the other cam. I'll be adding a peep tuner to one cable to try to get it closer this weekend. All in all it's not a perfect bow but for the price I'm still pretty happy with it

Add one half twist to one side of only one of the yokes to deal with that.

Yup. From what I've been told by people,.my channel has been shadow ban, which is KZbin's way of shutting down a channel without saying anything to them. They no longer suggest my videos. Pretty much the only way people find me now is when they do a search and my video pops up as a result and they click on it.

After watching your videos I guess that Dragon X8 and X9 are almost the same, some changes in the looks but very similar performance. I am recovering from adhesive capsulitis ( frozen shoulder), and after 5 years I am almost ready to try archery again. Used to shoot a 70lbs Hoyt and Bear. But I have lost my strenght. I can maybe look at opening a 50lbs bow now, maybe less. So I am considering a Dragon 8 or 9, but been looking at the Bear Legit and Legend ( which would be very difficult to get where I live). All of them seem to be adjustable at very low pounds so I could start with a set of light arrows and start recovering my strenght with time until I can shoot a more powerfull bow without injuring my shoulder. Would you suggest a Dragon vs Bear? Thanks

Both will do the same thing for you. Look within yourself and ask, do I prefer one over the other? If, deep down, you do, then go with that one. If you’re indifferent and want to save a little money then try the Dragon.

I have wanted to shoot one of these bows for a long time. My only problem is that there are only right-handed bows made. I hope that at some point they will make a bow for us left-handed shooters

Hi Sean, hope you can help me out here. I am trying to decide what bow I should get as my first adult bow that I will be using for backyard fun shooting and I really want to get into hunting. I don't want to spend a lot of money, so the question for you is, would you rather get Bear Cruiser G2 or Dragon X9? Thank you!
@seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors 10 ай бұрын
They are pretty similar.. the G2 has plastic draw modules which I don't like.. Otherwise they are pretty equal. If say either will serve your needs well so go with your gut feeling on it. God bless you

Great review ! Till now I have used long bow but never compound, so my question is, if it is worth it to buy Dragon X10, which will not come as a kit and I need to buy everything else separately or it is better to buy now the Dragond x9 and at some point in the future to buy even Dragon x11 if there is one. Thank you in advance for you guidance !
@seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors 6 ай бұрын
If you are new with compound I would suggest starting with the x8 or x9. They are smooth drawing and ready to shoot. The dragon 10 has a very aggressive draw cycle and a little difficult for someone new to compounds. The 10 is also a little harder to tune for hunting broadheads.

I purchased this based on your video and comments. Awaiting its arrival anyday now. What type of arrows (length, weight, etc) would you recommend for backyard target shooting. Anything from Amazon? Thanks again for you content.
@seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors 10 ай бұрын
The arrows that come with it will be okay, they will just need to be refletched. If you still want to get different arrows, then us a spine calculator on a major brand like Gold Tips or Easton's website to see what spine you will need for the draw weight you will use. Then buy the ones that are recommended that fit your budget. God bless you.

@@seansoutdoorssean, I contacted the manufacturer regarding the issues around arrows and they said they will send new arrow rest. Is that sufficient to address the issue? I thought they will send new arrows?

I cannot answer that as I have no idea what arrow rest they are sending. However, if they are sending one that does not grip the arrows so tightly then I imagine it should work. God bless you

You'd have to write to them and ask. It's not labeled on there, but I'm guessing it's right around 9. They are definitely better than the arrows with the x8.

I agree. Sean, love the content and I certainly don't blame you for obtaining endorsements, etc. However, I'm with Mike - these are clearly Chinese knock offs and this is a Chinese company. China is attempting undermine the U.S. constantly. Even if I thought this was a decent product, I'd much rather give my money to an American company. There are few industries where this is still relatively possible, but Archery is one of them.

It has been a great opportunity for me to share the truth of Jesus Christ with people from China, which I otherwise would not have had the opportunity to do! It is through building friendships, helping others, and showing them to way of a Christian. In other words, I am looking at it more of in terms of salvation than earthly economy. I support your decision, and I will keep doing my best to bring them all to Jesus for salvation. God bless you.

Lol it's not a bear, nor does it pretend to be, nor is it priced like one. A lot of good stuff comes out of China, and this is a pretty established company from a place with a very deep history with archery. If it was made by a company that also makes kitchen knives, safety glasses, and stuff like that, yeah I wouldn't get that, but just use judgement lol it's a budget bow to get into bow hunting.
