TBH, even if there was consequences for death, I still feel like Tien would've teased Vegeta relentlessly. He is the only (with maybe the exception of Piccolo and Cell) who truly understands how prideful Vegeta is and knows how to take advantage of that.

And it goes even beyond this, as we see later on in this arc. Tien just stops caring, which leads to him bullying Cell, to the point that he becomes the only member of the Z Fighters that Cell even remotely respects. The Tri-Beam barrage against Imperfect Cell does more then basically anything else thrown against any his forms, and makes Cell take him seriously, and despite that the first thing Tien does at the Cell Games fight is throw snark.

Kaiser's Trunks delivery really encapsulates his character so well. His desire to seem like a cool, competent grown up, while still being clearly a kid, and a bit of a dork at that, all tied up in a deeply traumatized package. It's a great performance.

As well, after learning his backstory, your synopsis of Trunk's character is spot on. Amd arriving at this scene we can appreciate it as Trunk's first real W, one he NEEDED for his own sake, followed by having real friends. I get people being frustrated with the Android saga, but Trunks amd his arc are super well concepted and executed

Kaiser was THE voice for Trunks. The delivery of "WHAT THE HELL IS WWWWRRRRROOOOONG WITH YOU?" from Trunks when he sees that Krillin's destroyed the detonator is my favourite delivery in the entire series. Trunks is one of the highlights of S3 and Kaiser voicing him is a huuuge part of that, it's right up there with Vegeta and Frieza with characters whose voices are literally the perfect fit.

On the topic of Bulma, both Season 3 and the Android Saga as a whole really bring her back to being a majorly relevant character. It's easy to forget considering the series focuses so much on the action, but for all intents and purposes, Bulma is just as important to the series as Goku. Most of the stuff that happens in the series is thanks to her involvement, and this saga is very unique compared to the rest of the Z portion of the series.

I agree! Bulma is one of my favorite characters and one of the reasons I love the Android/Cell saga so much is because they make her a relevant character again. A lot of people forget that without her there wouldn’t be Dragon Ball. This whole story started with her finding Goku.

Yeah, a youtuber who dissects dragonball and goes by the name Mistarefusion really opened my eyes to this they essentially pointed out that the outcome of the saiyan arc would pretty much determine what roles characters will fill going forward, but also in terms of importance along with the series due to its major turning points. This is important because out of the main cast, piccolo and bulma were the only ones to actually BARELY survive being written into obscurity, bulma moreso. And it’s an especially raw feat given how absent she actually was in the freeza arc It’s crazy because in the modern day, bulma is probably more important now than she was in Z and it’s crazy how it all began here!

This episode is amazing, the "where did you bury me?" joke is one of my favourites because it's so darkly comical, the timing of Vegeta's return and the "the only thing I hate more than weaklings is the colour pink" line, Krillin's line about knowing when a man is coming, it's packed with so many perfectly executed gags and quotable lines. Definitely one of the best episodes.

"I'm back, bitches!" is my favorite opening. So much that I trimmed that segment, replaced the slide whistle to remove Bulma's dialogue, and use it upon my return to Twitter after a break. Hell, I've even said it upon my return to work after my last vacation. Just walked in to my 7-11 and with customers in the store raised my arms and cried out, "I'm back, bitches!" 😂

"I love that this is the start of Tien prodding Vegeta". Same. Honestly the Vegeta/Tien rivalry is not only a big reason why season 3 is my favorite TFS season but probably the best relationship among the Z warriors cast with Vegeta. It's fun seeing Goku annoy and then see himself as Vegeta's friend despite the princes's obvious annoyance and Krillin "everyone's friend" being coordial and going from freaked out to accepting and Yamcha's desperate attempts of some form of dominace and Piccolo's not caring but I just love how Tien will take any chance whether it's warranted or not (and 9 times out of 10 it is) to cut Vegeta down as much as he can and give no shits. This is the season where Tien's personality really got defined and being the one to hassle Geats the most is a big reason why.

how is that better? icarus "flying too close to the sun" is actually smart and funny in how it reference the character with the same name and works well with the situation happening in the scene. the donkey kong joke makes no sense and even if donkey kong was an interesting character and not just some gorilla with anger issues that throws barrels at a plumber, the joke was still lame. by all accounts the "flying too close to the sun" is miles better.

Not to kiss up, Kaiser/Scott; but your voice for Trunks is genuinely my favorite voice for the character. I grew up with Dragon Ball, both in English and Japanese; I love Takeshi Kusao’s and Eric Vale’s take with the character. I can’t explain the exactly quality to your voice, it may be the youthful sound, but I genuinely really enjoy your take as the character. I can understand the imposter syndrome, especially considering this is one of if NOT your favorite character in the show. But I have zero doubts that there are a lot of people who love what you did with him. Hell to some people, you ARE their first voice for Trunks (now I know that won’t necessarily make you feel better since we want people to watch the original show 😅). I don’t know if you’ll ever give yourself props, but we’ll do it for you.

Kaiser.... your Trunks is so good that it makes me forget how he sounds in the official dub. When I read Trunks' voice in the manga, yours is 100% what plays in my head. It's the perfect blend of cool but innocent, while effortlessly working in the subtext of a traumatic past. Your portrayal of him in History of Trunks is some of my favorite voicework in all of DBZ (Abridged or otherwise).

From what I recall, and I could be wrong, it was a split due to differences in direction for the company. Ben wanted to do projects with more serious tones while the others wanted to keep up with the comedic tones and jokes which they built their brand on However there was one offhanded remark that they couldn't have women in the office and it was related to Ben's presence which confused me. Couldn't find a source or other information about it, I thought I heard it from an episode of TFS at the Table. Could be wrong on both things

I think the best part of Season 3 is that there's this casualness to the conversations. At this point, everyone is more or less in their element and able to play off each other so well. I have to imagine you guys did separate recordings that Kaiser then had to line up just right but the fact that it legit sounds so natural is amazing to me

I couldn't imagine anyone else playing Trunks. You placed so much personality into him and TFS dub is by FAR my favorite iteration of Trunks. He's cool, he tries being confident when he's not always sure of himself, it all felt so relatable and was honestly adorable to see. Finally, your performance of him in History of Trunks was outstanding the entire way, all the way through the chilling screams of rage, pain and despair at losing his master and friend. His moments from cool to adorable, from anger to compassion are some of the best voice acting that stands out most to me in Season 3. Give yourself more credit, you gave us something truly amazing as Trunks and I wouldn't have it any other way!

One of my first major crushes as a kid was Future Trunks while watching DBZ when it originally came out. His characterization in DBZA is incredible and reignited my love for him and honestly I think Kaizer’s portrayal of him is a big part of why the character is so great. It’s a bit silly but my favourite lines are in Kai 3 (18: “Jeez caaalm. Dooown.” FT: “No >:[ “) and movie 7 (“But.. you don’t even have a sword…”) soley because of the delivery. Thank you for such an amazing job. (And Lani, you are great. I do think that the Icarus line was better though.)

As someone who has been along for the entire ride, Kaiser was always the best choice for Trunks. I seriously can't imagine anyone else doing the same justice. As a side note, episodes 32 and 33 are my go-to episodes for introducing people to your series. I feel they do the best job representing the overall (hilarious) product without requiring any prior knowledge. Thanks to you guys, my wife is now a legit Dragonball fan, and your series continues to provide us with laughter on a daily basis. Thank you so much for all the great content over the years. Now I'm off to eat a horse. :)

You know what's a detail I love that I never see anyone talking about? Vegeta didn't bother to turn on the landing gear for the ship, because he's just so used to not having to with his saiyan pods. And sure enough, the ship's just fine, because it was reverse-engineered FROM a saiyan pod!

Trunks is the coolest mf in the world when he kills Frieza, but he practically becomes a walking disappointment until Super after that. One of my favorite Trunks moments though is when he goes back to his own timeline and is so OP that he one shots 17, 18 and Cell.
