How does Goku go from, "say what you want, but make sure you believe it yourself first, Vegeta" to, "I just like to fight strong guys!"? He's supposed to get wiser with age, not the other way around. His love of martial arts doesn't have to be expressed with childish dialogue when he's hitting 40 yrs old! Vegeta, Piccolo, especially Gohan get noticeably more developed in Super. The writers decided to make Goku a static character *for the sole purpose of pushing the new show, which is unsportsmanlike af.*

That's cause he is, yo. In almost any other work of fiction, Krillin would be the strongest guy in the universe. He's only weak by comparison to other Dragon Ball characters. But you throw him at most of the villains that, say, DC or Marvel handle? He'd toast them without even trying. Thanos? More like Deados.

@@theomega7699 Really? I think you underestimate his capabilities, by quite a bit. Casual reminder: Roshi in the original Dragon Ball, at a power level of ~200 or so, was able to destroy the Moon. By the end of the Namek Saga Krillin is already at 75,000, and evidence (admittedly less reliable, as it's DBZKakarot) suggests it tops 160,000 by the time 19 and 20 roll around, nevermind what it becomes later especially into Super. Now let's compare that to most of fiction. In order to destroy a planetary body, most fictional entities require some form of starship or space station. The Death Star, for example, a station about the SIZE of a small moon. Or a large group of starships from Trek can do it over a series of many, many hours. Meanwhile all Krillin has to practically do, if he wanted to, is love tap the surface with a Kamehameha. Power levels translate into speed of movement, so depending upon how you want to measure it, especially with the blinking Vanish tricks they can all do, he could almost beat the Flash in speed. He could certainly outperform anything that the Scarlet Witch or Vision could do by miles over. Superman would barely touch the guy. About the only chance Thanos himself would have is with all six infinity stones, and he'd never get them. Krillin (and for that matter, Yamcha, Tien, and arguably even CHIAOTZU) would mop the floor with almost anything any other fictional universe has to offer. Again, they're only weak in relation to other Dragon Ball characters. You don't mess with the Krillmaster.

The one who underestimates others is you, the death star is not even the most powerful thing in the star wars universe when there were Siths who could destroy entire stars using only the connection with The Force. Flash skills work very differently than you think, the speedforce allows Flash to manipulate time and space so that no matter how fast your enemy goes, Flash will go faster, that together with speedsteal does any speed advantage that Krillin might have doesn't matter. Scarlet Wich created a different universe just by dreaming it thanks to her magic of chaos. Vision can literally get inside someone using phassion and grab their hearts before making them weigh 5,000,000,000 kilograms. I'm curious how Krillin could do better than that. Along with that, Superman, oh man, Superman. Under his own testimony, a teenage Kriptinian can accidentally crack a planet in half, only with the force of his fists, not with a kamehameha, not with his greater abilities, only physical strength. And that's a teenager, not the second most powerful Kryptonian in existence. Something curious is that the universe in DC is large, trillions and trillions of light years, if not duodecillions of light years. And Superman, coincidentally, can travel all of that in seconds. Do you know who did the same thing taking minutes in a more little universe? Whis They are shit in DBZ, They are shit in any other place

So, this came out in 2010. The Stardust Crusaders most of us know came out in 2014-2015 let alone Phantom Blood in 2012.
