The 8.5" tall screens are very popular. It will hide your map and whatever you want to keep private but not block you and the players from seeing each other or feel like a barrier inhibiting engagement. The other advantage is the 3 panels are 11" wide and not 8.5" wide, so you can actually fit more tables on it quite often.

The Call of Cthulhu, RuneQuest, and Pendragon boxed sets from Chaosium are pretty well packed, too. Not quite as much as this, but they're also quite a bit cheaper.

Call of Cthulhu is the next game I need to get into. I have only played one half-session of it in my life, but it was amazing! I'll have to check out that box set!

@@RedMageGM, I don't have a favorite game, really. But if I absolutely had to pick just one game as my favorite, it would be Call of Cthulhu. The 7th Ed. is, I think, its best incarnation. And the box set is a great way to try it. Chaosium has been putting solo adventures in their starter boxes that help teach you the basics of the rules while you play through. Plus the basic rules & several adventures. I don't love the physical quality of the books in the box set (very flimsy covers), but again, you can't beat the price.

excellent review! A new campaing book is coming Path of Glory. I just got it after looking at the quick start guide (8$). I added the Beastiary which seems amazing. I don't need another rpg system but the game looks fantastic. I agree that the art is flavourful. The solo rules and solo missions sold me to get it. The art is great. roll under works well. 1 action per round makes it clear. Monsters with different attacks like in forbidden lands: what a great concept! Not sure about the Mallard kin... but if someone wants to play that great. My son always like Dragonborn kin. It comes with a world map and a campaign: more OSR games should that (like Dolmenwood, and Beyond the Wall)... maybe the next steps for Shadowdark. D&D without Greyhawk/Blackmoor would not be D&D today.

I definitely want to get a copy of this. I'm a huge fan of Basic Role-Playing, and I know there's some of that in Dragonbane's DNA.

Been wondering about what exposure Basic Role-Playing and other stuff from Chaosium had in the states, Call of Cthulu or Runequest would've had some I guess? Everyone reviewing Dragonbane seems to make a note out of roll under and skills which is somewhat funny being an older Swede getting basically BRP with the first Drakar and Demoner back in the day.

@@matsjohansson7406, I think Call of Cthulhu is the main one in the US. RuneQuest, Pendragon, etc. are still mostly niche games, even with the big push Chaosium has done with the new edition of RuneQuest. I would bet most game conventions have at least one person running Call of Cthulhu, whereas the others seem far, far less common. Most of the other BRP games that have come out over the years have not lasted. I got my start with the hobby in the 80s with Worlds of Wonder, which was already out of print when I played my first game.

So Dungeons and Dragons's always been totally dominant I take it. Speaking of niche games, the first rpg in english I bought was Chivalry and Sorcery 2nd edition - I never rolled good enough to comprehend that one :D@@matthewconstantine5015

The shipping in the US is not the best for Free League because their logistics partner is subpar. Different in UK, Europe and Sweden.

@@RedMageGM yeah, I’ve always been treated with good service from Free League. Even though they are a tiny company and rely on external partners to handle stock and distribution.
