Awesome vid. Can hear very little difference on my end. Now for the vid request that you knew was coming. Dragonfire vs Dragonfire.
@mikefrombloodofthewolf70764 жыл бұрын
Thanks. It's a slight difference. I could only really hear it when the guitars were in solo. Dragonfire vs Dragonfire? Maybe. Got a 7 string set of Crusaders on their way.

Great vid and an honest comparison. To my ears the difference is not really noticeable, but in the room with the amp may be different . In a blindfold test most wouldn't be able to tell the difference . Just goes to show how far these 'OTHER MANUFACTURERS' have come when a budget pickup can stand toe to toe with one of the popular pickups ever made . I had one back in the 80's in a V, nothing came close back then.. Now this ,lol

Impressive! That's the first time I've heard anything that can go toe to toe with the X2N. I still think the X2N was a bit more defined and articulate on single notes but it was very difficult to tell the difference.

I have, but this was before I started doing KZbin videos. I do have a set of Dragonfire Crusaders in my 7 string Rhoads. Those are great pups. I did a video on those vs. Nazgul.

I have an x2n in the bridge. what to put in the neck ? Ibanez RG 550. Edited my comment for an Update. I put a Super 3 in the neck. The x2n is 510mv output and the super 3 is 435mv. The tone shift i get when switching between pups is fantastic and no output or volume loss. it is like these 2 pickups were made for each other.
@mikefrombloodofthewolf70764 жыл бұрын
Good question. I don't have a recommendation. I rarely use my neck pickups.

@@danielmunoz6020 I had a DiMarzio super 3 laying around which i put in. Havent strung it up yet. waiting on strings from sweetwater. but the X2N is 510 mv output and the Super 3 is 435 mv output. should be a good match. the D activator is 470 also a close match in output. so if this Super 3 don't get it i will order the D activator. Thanks.

X2N seemed to have slight more clarity, but seriously in a party setting or bar or any venue no way you will tell a difference, and for the price difference no brainier..

I've been shopping a pickup upgrade for my lespaul studio, I've been comparing dragonfire screamers to duncan black winter pups, money isn't the issue, I can afford the duncans. I went dragonfire screamers there just wasn't a big enough difference to justify the upcharge.

Just ordered screamers to replace the seymore Duncan's in my 08 Jackson DK2m. I think the JB and 59 are wired wrong because they sound weak. Oh well, pull em out and use em in something else or sell em. Lookin forward to screamers, green and black zebra! Rad.
