Little sarcastic on the thumbnail, but consecration does decent damage! Hopefully tuning makes it a worthwhile build. Super fun!
@grizzled9522 жыл бұрын
I do hope they do proper tuning with Consecration, I know a lot of people do not really like it, but I think its a very interesting new take of ret and it does help a lot in consistent AoE, where ret was lacking a lot, people might think that having the mobs move will make it annoying, but with all the ways of auto proccing it, it shouldnt be that bad and it seems we still keep most of the juice from our AoE burst from Shadowlands. Also, I hope they update the visuals for Consecration, how can they put this much focus on the ability while it still looks like someething from 2013. Take a look at the Troll paladin mobs in the begnning of Dazar Alor raid, that looks sick!
@Varaben2 жыл бұрын
Agree, hopefully it is tuned up a bit. Right now the talents like +10% damage are kind of laughable. Even with two consecrations rolling you're talking about 100-150 DPS per target in aoe, which just isn't enough. Baseline needs to be higher or the talents need to really juice is up. The positive thing is that right now you can do a full hardcore consecration build and it doesn't really hurt your single target a whole lot.

Not sure if you know or if you remember but in BFA they added a new visual to consecration in the ptr for 9.1 or 9.2(it looked pretty damn cool) but for some reason it never made it to the live game. I was very disappointed and have no idea why they decided to show it off just to not add it...
@grizzled9522 жыл бұрын
@@Java_CM I remember this, but wasnt it given to the npcs I mentioned in my commment eariler? or was there a 3rd seperate one?

With enough haste and luck from procs is it possible to get a third consecration down?
@Varaben2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think so, I think you can only have two up. Like the new one from consecrated blade replaces the old one I think. I’ll have to double check that.
@WanaOwnz2 жыл бұрын
This is not okay for me at all, your changing a play style completely, I’d prefer Ret as they are and what they are known for, 2min Wings and just go ham on anything in-front of you, I don’t see the talent tree for Ret doing well for single target
@Varaben2 жыл бұрын
It’s gonna change significantly I hope. They haven’t made any big changes to it yet and almost every other spec has seen significant changes in beta so far.

Hey man good video thank you for the infos, really not a fan of the consecration build ( im a pvp enjoyed) because the spell feels so useless in m+ when the mobs have to move you basically lose a gcd putting your consecration on the ground but it sure looks fun you have a lot of HP generation with the double consecr, quick question, do you know if there is a limit cap on the art of war procc'd consecr or if it can only go up to 2 at the same time. Lastly I saw you respond to a comment saying they made a blue post about ret but I can't find it so if you have the link I'd be glad. Ty and sorry for the long ass comment
@Varaben2 жыл бұрын
So the blue post didn’t say Ret specifically it said “this week we worked on the Paladin class tree and the prot spec tree. We are working on the rest in the coming weeks.” Holy already got a big update so I assume Ret is soon. Considering how drastically almost every spec tree has been changed I’d expect big changes
@Varaben2 жыл бұрын
Specific to consecration I assume you can only get 2 at a time, one from the actual ability and another from consecrated blade but I will check on it!
@kustomz61422 жыл бұрын
@@Varaben thank you brother, I was asking because when they introduced the art of war consecration proc, the tool tip said " this consecration has its own limit of 1" or something along those lines but when they changed the tree a bit this was removed so that's why I think it might stack with multiple procs
@Varaben2 жыл бұрын
@@kustomz6142 interesting, I haven’t had a chance to test but hopefully this week. If it does proc multiple times that would kinda make sense and make that talent point a lot stronger. There were times when I was testing sanctification that it seemed like it was proccing way more than others.
@Varaben2 жыл бұрын
So I did test this and for what it's worth, the new consecrated blade does move your consecration, kinda like if you pop one consecration with the actual ability (Which lasts 12 seconds but has a 9s cd). So you can only ever have 2 going at a time unfortunately. That would be pretty slick if you could just keep stacking them though!

One of ret's capstones should be a extra holy power.
@Varaben2 жыл бұрын
Interesting, you mean like a cap of 6 rather than 5? I was thinking it would be cool if we got something like rogue's have where you can consume UP TO 5 HP for a finisher and it does extra damage/healing. Like if you did TV/FV when you had 4 HP it would do 33% more damage. It would be a totally different playstyle, but might be kind of interesting. Would probably sync well with Dusk and Dawn.

this actually looks pretty fun. I don't mind them experimenting a bit by focusing on consecration, I really do think ret will be more viable with it (if they can tune it right). Looking forward to doing mythic + but idk how pvp is going to go. I really do think making main consecration follow the Paladin would be very beneficial. it would make it better for pvp and pve imo.
@Varaben2 жыл бұрын
Imo they should make a pvp talent for a supercharged consecration that follow Ret and make unbound freedom a regular talent (or bake into freedom)

I see people excited for consecration Just remember on m+ no tank is going to stay for a ret's consecration and on sanguine weeks this is actually ass I think consecration should just be deleted from ret The rose tinted goggles of boomers wanting consecration to come back is just nonsense
@Varaben2 жыл бұрын
I totally agree it needs a big overhaul. I just think they're telling us they're trying to make cons happen, and whether or not it's more than a meme isn't clear. I can tell you this playstyle on PTR at least is a ton of fun because double consecration gives tons of free holy power. But as you say, unless the mob lives in it, it won't do any good. But having a bigger radius will help and having at least one of them "follow" the mob through art of war proccing consecration will help.
@preemptivefaceplant52772 жыл бұрын
Consecration was never a big thing with ret other then a gap filler so say boomers want it to come back is pretty childish and we can see how little you have actually played the game. Wanting to see something new with your class and spec besides "hey I'm doing damage for 20 secs and up there goes my wings so my damage is bad" yeah no thanks. Seeing consecration being used besides a gap filler in the rotation would be nice. Sanguine was already hell for any melee player. This wouldn't change that. The fact consecration has a short cooldown would mean it would still be viable in mythic +
