I've been outdamaging a lot of other classes and even other rets with similar iLevels and it makes you insanely tanky in dungeons. Healing for 100% of the dmg you deal on a spammable ability is insane and is 100% worth giving up dusk/dawn in favour of final recokning

Interesting using it in dungeons. With set bonuses there’s no way it’s worth it. You’re losing too much scaling, but maybe in prepatch it works. Agree tho it does do hella healing, but at the end of the day, damage is gonna win out. Unless we end up doing so much healing with JV, jOL, golden path that we’re a pseudo healer.

I dont understand why they gave some classses like my arcane mage SOOO MUCH utlitliy back , but they couldnt gave ret anything? I would have liked the burst of speed talent back from MoP, or and Exorcism

This is going to be nerfed without a doubt. The damage won’t but the healing will. Mark my words brother paladins. I’ve been playing this in retail and it just feels too good for them to let us keep it.

I think my biggest gripe with JV is that it does significantly more damage than TV, rather than an equivalent amount of damage or less damage. This puts it in a weird position where, in PVP, you are likely to just not cast TV and miss out on a lot of the relevant throughput and utility features of TV in the talents (like Final Verdict being ranged). That puts ret in a weird position where there aren't meaningful choices between TV and JV, you kind of just always want to be casting JV. I think, if they made it so that JV was lower damage or equivalent damage, you could have more diversity in your gameplay (choosing between TV for damage and JV for survivability), as opposed to just overwriting such a core ability and killing the talents associated with it in PVP (empyrean legacy, final verdict, etc). I hope they bring Templar's Verdict's numbers up to that 140 AP ratio, or bring JV down to 126% AP to better align those abilities

I agree it’s awkwardly designed now but that’s reflective of the Ret tree in general. The minor improvements to TV (ignoring FV which is really fun) just don’t compare to the healing. You still get empyrean power at least, but yeah it makes the Ret tree a lot more one dimensional.

I think blizzard knows what they want and we have to figure out how to make it work. They think if we get mobility and bubble and burst we will be OP. I’d trade bubble for mobility in a heartbeat but I think we get 2 out of 3.

Personnely I can't give up the 10 yard final verdict and desarme effect on it, in pvp final verdict is the go for sure

They definitely just forgot about nerfing this and I'm sure it'll be hit with the same nerf eventually. My evidence for this is that they nerfed TV so hard DS started to do more damage than it then they nerfed that too in a hotfix

Well that looks like evidence they are aware of it. Everyone started looking at JV when the TV nerfs came in, especially after it was changed to 3 HP. They adjusted the damage at that time also, so I’m not so sure. Maybe they actually want us to take a talent they gave to us? What a crazy idea.

@@Varaben I just don't trust they know what they're doing with the class, giving us things and then taking them away because they don't like the fantasy or design or w/e reason they have. They start off by giving us mobility with long arm of the law, the community likes it but wants it buffed, and now we have the same mobility as before but only now it feels worse because we know it could have been better. I feel like JV is in the same boat, they dont exactly know what to do with it but they'll probably end up nerfing it, because I don't trust they'll do what the community wants

DF promises to be alt friendly with limited borrowed power and daily grinds so hopefully being committed to one class and spec won’t be a big deal. I’m planning to play at least two specs/classes, but we will see how it plays out.

Ive been saying this for years Justicar's Vengeance was only good during legion due to a legendary and the fact wake of ashes gave you 5 holy power. If they want people to use the talent again, they need to make Justicar's Vengence a passive that upgrades Templar's Verdict to heal for its dmg. They already made it a 3 holy power move now, and Final Verdict used to be its own move too, now it's also a passive for Templar's Verdict.
