Blizz never design ret's to be this unstoppable juggernaut. I felt that my ability to catch up the the target was prune. Blizz still has this design philosophy that ret's need to be in a wheel chair with a shot or 2 of nitrous.

Thanks for another nice video. Based on beta details, guild needs, and overall lack of faith (lol) I finally made the DF swap to Frost Mage, which I'm enjoying. That noted, as a primarily M+ player, Ret is looking pretty good at the moment and will definitely be an alt for me. Fairly consistent AoE with strong burst, fairly good utility (Brez being a big win here) and surprising survivability make playing Ret sound appealing. Looking at the dungeons, there appears to be a greater % of total damage that will be physical, and Ret is incredible at mitigating physical damage in raid/dungeon content. Our mobility is still subpar, but a little bit better with 2x pony, so that's a QoL change. Hardest part of Ret atm is the glowing button fiesta and difficulty with accurately tracking / managing HP due to the randomizer fun presented by consecration.

That’s funny because I started leveling my frost mage yesterday too and having a blast. Not sure who my “main” is but do plan to level Ret very soon. Unfortunately will be out of town for a week so I’ll be a bit behind. I agree though Ret looks good for m+ and that’s largely where I will do pve.

I'm playing ret and love it but man does.it feel god awful with low haste lol I would love to see a video discussing rotation(single target and AOE) and priorities for skills. I do pretty decently but I'm not sure where I can be improving.

Haste. All the haste. It'll make everything fall in place. You'll get more procs more often. It's just one of those things. I have 24% haste right now and my aoe is amazing but single target is meh this xpac.

How do you get Divine Storm and Blade of Justice to work? I have them both unlocked and it doesn't matter what sword I use, both are straight up broken for me

I‘m not sure if I should play ret, feral, shadow or affli.. i want more rbg and solo shuffle. I would go 100% ret when I know that the dmg out of wings is playable😂 can you make maybe a short where you show the burst? And maybe explain it with notes 1. blinding light 2. this 3. etc. Would be nice :D!

Nah it’s not that complicated. There’s a lot of nuance but it’s probably easier than some/most classes imo.

Even when its bad its good in pvp atleast. People sleep on it to much. Havnt tried it in DF but i loved it in SL.I dont think a death knight or a shaman for example have better mobilit really and freedom is more op than you think :) I have heard bad things about the talent trees etc tho.And i dont think we can really know how any spec will perform untill we have some better gear.

Love ret's utility and aoe. But I hate executioner's sentence, which means I guess I won't enjoy ret in raids unless there isn't a big disparity in not taking that talent.

Exec Sentence is not viable. And even at the times when it was “the only correct choice” I still was getting 95% logs on pure single target fights without running it because it played like shirz

The worst thing I found about ret is the major push for consecration. In a game where everyone has to keep moving, a stationary AoE is crap. Maybe it is better in raids, but dungeons everything is constantly moving. I really wish they didn't remove the consecration follows you glyph

@@Trans-verbot A little harsh to say someone is just copying someone else's content without explicit proof. Varaben has been producing his own, unique content for a while. If the content seems similar, it's probably because it is! Every Ret Paladin streamer (and I follow several) all have similar talking points; they just present them in different ways. Generally, this is a good thing because it allows the information to be spread over a wider audience while allowing diversity of thought/opinion/input from the creator. It's somewhat similar to what news networks and journalists do.
