Great tldr for someone wanting to try out disc priest. It really is a ton of fun, once you get into it. Just a quick mention: Shouldn't the rotation be holy - shadow - holy - shadow spell etc to get the maximum value out of twilight equilibrium? For rotation you say to use mind blast - mind blast - smite smite smite etc. Shouldn't it be one after another? Like dots - penance - mind blast - smite - mind blast - solace - shadow covenant - dark reprimand - smite - mind blast etc etc. So you always switch between holy and shadow. At least that's what I've always been doing. Someone tell me if this is right or wrong, or if I'm unnecessarily making my life harder for no reason. ^^

Absolutely and thank you, you definitely want to rotate. I didn't want to go too in depth as i thought my TLDR guide wasn't so TLDR and didn't want it to drag on any more and confuse people. I would recommend do the cycle during your maintenance rotations

this is low key something that increases damage, if you do 1 mind blast 1 smite 1 mind blast 1 smite you would be adding damage from the twilight equilibrium talent, damage rotation should always change between light and darkness in order to add up 15% damage.

What advice can you give people that have healerphobia in WoW? By healerphobia I mean someone that would like to play as a healer but is scared to play as one, like messing up and getting blamed for it. Especially if that person is someone that in secret practices sometimes on target dummies when he picks up a new class and spec to hit high numbers as a dps to not feel insecure about their performance? So how does such a person overcome the fear of playing as a healer?

Good question! You just have to jump right in and do it. I would suggest doing normal dungeons to practice where there’s no pressure and build up from there. I have a video that talks about top tips for new healers you may find useful

Focus on main tank. If someone complains about dying. /shrug. They’re not priority and they just have to suck it up. Granted, do try to heal everyone but things will happen from time to time. They just have to understand and if they don’t? Remind them who’s their lifeblood. You are. You’re in control, f em 😅.

I haven’t played disc priest since they made them more damage oriented. My fiancé was disc as well and we got up to 2100 in 2v2 with myself as blood DK and her as disc priest. Even she stopped playing disc after they were changed

Mind games heals a ton with attonment and also heals 2x the ammount of the damage it converts into healing because the damage os prevented AND the its healing for the same ammount. Its quite good, but I do hate how I have to have one red button on my bars... not asteyically pleasing

Hey man, great guide! I haven’t tried this build yet,(still on the squid build) but when you pop shadow covenant would you not weave in holy spells after each shadow spell to get the most out of twilight equilibrium capstone talent?

Absolutely! but I tend to do that after the initial opener as to not waste GCDs on less potent holy spells during thst initial burst. There is so much nuance to disc I didn’t want to over complicate things any more than I did lol. I hope that helps.

Yes but just remember that the 20% buff to atonement healing is more valuable than the 15% damage buff from twilight equilibrium. I don't recommend weaving light spells (at least not smite) into SC burst windows unless you know you will have time to hit all your shadow skills within SC's duration. This includes both mind blast charges, SW:D and divine star. The exception to this is throwing out a solace just before dark reprimand for the extra juice.

other than dotting and some people abilities, not really. One is a dps and one is a healer. The only thing you share are some cooldowns/cds

I never played disc priest but plan on trying. So it looks like I need to apply atonement on players to heal them. Lets say there is a case the whole party is taking big damage and you need aoe heal. How do you apply atonement to everyone in the party?

Hello! That’s right. You want to use Radiance. It’ll hit 5 targets and has 2 charges. The 4 set makes it have a chance to be instant cast

"Smart Healing" Ruined disc. Having to dps as a healer is lazy game design. Disc priest peaked out during cataclysm and was ruined with mop and subsequent expansions.
