Oh wow, I don't know where to start! Kelly, your excitement and enthusiasm is just pouring out with every word and gesture! Christine, you totally brought out how Kelara is sweet, innocent and completely over her head! Chris, loving how kind and dutiful Godfrey is! Robin, I was convinced Rizira was a kender from the first time I saw her and the first time she spoke (and 'found' something). Kal, Aurontiros is so clever and mischievous! And Jen, I can't get over how you brought out-of-the-box Mage-like thinking to Hazeal! If this is what Episode 1 was like, I can't wait to see how the rest of the campaign will unfold!

Usually before I run a module (yet to happen due to ongoing campaigns) I tend to look for a group doing play on VOD. I am so glad to have found a group that seems to fit the general stride I like to hit in games, and particularly this module, as it's the most solid of the ones I one, at least RAW. Will be watching with great interest throughout, and what would you know, I have 3 more episodes already to check out. I thought the idea of using Levna like this (or generally, any of that list of characters) to aid in the prelude to be great! Awesome way of introducing these people and establishing a connection for later, if need be.

good gravy. This is wonderful. I know a smidge about the setting because it was my sister's favorite set of books when we were younger. Kelly you had no reason for the gitters, it was wonderful. The first scene with Kelara getting her magic was so beautiful. The pacing of it all was just great. Christine, I just adore the wideeyed sweetness of Kelara . It is so perfect. Chris, Godfrey is such a juxtaposition from Dorlan it makes me want to stand and applaud you. Robin, Rizira is the perfect kinder. Her "finding" things is perfect. I look forward to seeing her grown. Kal, your make-up was flipping awesome . Aurontiros is clever and I look forward to more. Jen, I am so glad Kelly got you to come play DnD. Hazeal and her hammer are super fun and not what is expected from a mage. You go girl. Keep it up to you all. I am exited for more. I will try to catch some live broadcasts, but will always watch here as well. 💜💜

Great session guys! You killed it! So happy to see my fave D&D setting being played all over the internet, now! I'm setting up to run this adventure sometime in the near future after my Ravnica game concludes and those players are able to start anew. I am definitely using the original Death Throws for the Draconians (instead of the 5E versions) though. I feel like players having a chance to lose their weapon for a few minutes in battle is probably harsh enough without adding petrifying gas to the mix. lol

I love that Dragonlance is in 5e and that so many people are either getting back into it or just discovering it. So please understand, my criticisms are for WotC, not Dork Tales. And one of my criticisms is divine magic. This module is supposed to place before the events of Dragons of an Autumn's Twilight. Yet they've given divine magic to clerics, completely negating Goldmoon and Riverwind. They've introduced the dragonlance, completely negating the Companions finding it with the help of the Gully Dwarves. To me at least, it feels like the writers of Shadow of the Dragonqueen never read the novels. I am enjoying the show and look forward to the next episode. Unfortunately, due to my work schedule, I can only watch it on KZbin.
@TheAkiliDaniels2 жыл бұрын
It's actually supposed to take place AFTER Dragons of Autumn Twilight and just as the story heads into Dragons of Winter Night ^_^
@caileancampbell74982 жыл бұрын
In the year 351 is when Dragons of an Autumn's Twilight took place. Solomnia fell in the year 349. If WotC had explained in the book that the events took place during the book Dragonsof a Winter's Night, that'd be great. But Sturm and Loralanthis would already be there trying to rally the remnants of the Knights. The metalic dragons would also have been re-introducd. On side note, Kelly, I loved that you reverted Draconian death throws back. That's one of the few things I loved about the old modules was the danger of defeating the foe was always something that made the players pause.

Kinda harsh to destroy level 1 pcs weapons on the first combat and still keep the burst damage as the draconians die. I think I'll stick to the RAW on this one. I hate being a purist. Every time I hear y’all say [mɪʃɪkɔl̩] or [mɪʃikɔl̩] it’s like nails on a chalkboard. I blame Lucy Lawless, aka Xena Warrior Princess. She said [mɪʃʌkɔl̩] first.
@DorkTales Жыл бұрын
Honest query, but how would you say it? I'm wondering if some of the inflected emphasis is due to our location as mostly Canadian stream on the west coast.
@sirwilliam4128 Жыл бұрын
@@DorkTales The only reason I pronounce it (mih-shock-kle) [mɪʃʌkɔl̩] like (American English) sparkle ✨ is because Lucy Lawless pronounced it that way when she did the voice acting for Bright Moon in the animated movie for Dragon Lance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight; and, because I speak American English it takes particular circumstances to induce me to pronounce “i” as an European “i” [i]. Typically, American English words only pronounce “i” as [i] or (ee) as in tea ☕️ at the end of a word. The exception of course being assimilated words from another language.

Great story. I've played the module. Attempting to watch these folks do it, but the "my pronouns are..." is really about to turn me away, by the 4 minute mark. I'll just skip past that. DEI inspires a sense of entitlement and lowering of personal and professional standards.

I'm always puzzled why what amounts to less than fifteen seconds of being welcome to our LGBTQ+ cast and viewers is so distressing next to the literal hours of lovingly created professional grade content. Agree to disagree on matters of diversity, equity, and inclusion. It's a better party when everyone is invited. Regardless, enjoy the show. It's a dammed fine one.

Thanks for asking! The Dork Tales team (in addition to our loved ones and community) is full of LGBTQ+ individuals and we strive to make this the most welcoming and inclusive channel possible. However, if pronoun use isn't your thing, don't worry: it takes up about 10 seconds per episode which are followed by hours of great gaming content!

Hey, we're not for everyone! We support our friends and loved ones in the LGBTQ+ community. While we wish you did too, we're not forcing you to do anything. However, a quick warning: if you take exception to things like pronouns, you might not love the two guys kissing on page 61.

What a horrible start! GM Sins in the first half hour: 1) Slow, cold start. 2) Most players are sitting around doing nothing while the GM does a solo game with just one player. 3) The GM is telling players what their characters feel (emotionally). 4) The GM asked for a perception check when the player wasn't looking for anything. Poor Christine sat there for over 2 hours with nothing to do. She looked soooo bored!
