I remember Tony Benn talking about his sittable suitcase; he devised it after finding no available seats on train journeys, so he had to stand in the door/toilet area of train carriages. With the seat-suitcase he could sit anywhere he chose on the platform or on the train. I've spent many hours sitting on a box in the luggage carriage or leaning on the carriage door because the seats were taken - it's no fun!

The Motormouse is easily one of the best ideas I have seen on Dragon's Den. Glad to know they are doing well. Well deserved indeed and I wish them the best.
@RockLobster223 Жыл бұрын
Just stumbled across this myself - what an awfully crass and outdated product (even 11 years ago). This is hardly an idea, just a mouse that looks different with an outdated USB dongle (obviously they've not heard of Bluetooth), and I believe it was a set up by someone at the BBC who happens to be pals with this couple for some free publicity. This is a story of wealthy people, get an investment from another wealthy person, all to provide a backhander to some 'friends' at the BBC and to their merry band of left wing narcissists and back-patters. However, it also just goes to show you that the average consumer has very little taste and will buy any old tat.

I have always held the view that of all the dragons, James cahn is the nicest and also the most genuine and business savvy, look how he turned this investment into a successful business venture in a entirely different sector to that of what he was investing in to begin with

It's bought by the "my relative likes italian cars and computers, 30 quid and I've got him off my Christmas list already" type of people. Meanwhile the relative likes Lamborghini, not Ferrari, and has much more comfortable mouse already so it will end up in the charity shop bag in January. Also imagine the promotional gadgets market, it's something that high end car manufacturers would love to hand out to the journalists.

*Sir Anthony Neil Wedgwood Benn - Probably right in only ONE thing today was his comment in 1970 "Labour lost the 1970 election to Edward Heath's Conservatives and upon Heath's application to join the European Economic Community, a surge in left-wing Euroscepticism emerged. Benn was stridently against membership, and campaigned in favour of a referendum on the UK's membership. The Shadow Cabinet voted to support a referendum on 29 March 1972, and as a result Roy Jenkins resigned as Deputy Leader of the Labour Party. BREXIT in 1972" - he was the Ken Livingstone of his day and no doubt would have been great Pal's with Jeremy Corbinista and his equally twisted FAR LEFT Twisted Views. I always absolutely detested even the sound of the name "Tony Benn" and has now spawned another "Hilary James Wedgwood Benn"*

As of December 2018 they've only sold enough on Amazon UK to garner 8 reviews ...
@AutoRegaliaLtd5 жыл бұрын
As with anything product purchased online, the 99.9% of customer who are happy with their order do not leave reviews or feedback, their order does what they wanted and they do not have time or inclination to log back and write review. Consequently we have sold thousands of the Motormouse sports car mouse but you only get feedback from a few...

@@AutoRegaliaLtd Probably because it's bought as a present and since it's not fit for purpose, it will just end up in the bin. Basically you are selling landfill for £40.

@snippy213 жыл бұрын
@amalemin as I understood it he would pay them directly 120K to get 50% of what was worth 240K... so that 120 would go back to the couple in exchange for the equity, rather than a tradition investment in the business itself... I may be seeing that wrong though so I am not in a position to question if you saw it differently. But in the end that deal didn't materialize... and what James really wanted to do was be partners with these folks in all sorts of ventures and use their skills.. great move

they, especially the husband did not like james because he's looking for strategic partnership and james only had the money. You can see when they accept james offer, the husband did not give a damn on his look. It was a just a way to turn down james offer saying they found a way refinance it. Yes, James is the best of the bunch. The rest just want to slag off the businesses and take the Micky but what they don't seem to realise is that people go on Dragons’ Den to advertise their business. Whether they get a deal or not, they get free advertising and it has been shown that their sales go up after their TV exposure.
@MsMaryPatricia4 жыл бұрын
Theo and Duncan are the two piss takers. Sometimes Peter gets it spot on and comes across as really decent and other times he acts like an arse. Deborah is the most well rounded and is usually calm. James comes across as the nicest but really he's the most ruthless. Ultimately they're all there to make money and anyone going on the show has to understand that. It's both an investment opportunity and an entertainment show. I don't like the newer episodes as much because Theo and Duncan aren't there and it's not as much fun.
