+TheMormonSorceress One of the many brilliant strokes in this game. Right up there with Beethoven becoming Elton John, the angel guarding Eden being flamboyantly gay, and Eve being morbidly obese. Don Bluth's arrogance always prevented him from hiring a decent writer. He insists on controlling everything, even when he's no good at it. Only Spielberg seems to have gotten through to him, and he burned that bridge ages ago. The guy constantly snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.
@BurnRoddy10 жыл бұрын
newguy90 For what? To make another Shrek movie? The guy is a genious, and his stories are consistent but touching and enganging instead of a boring digested predictable slapstick family values comedy. Ever since Pixar came along animated movies have become the KFC of cinematography. That's why kids shifted into anime in the late 90s and 2000s, american film industry suffered a tremendous loss and it wasn't untill the 80s craze with TMNT and MLP and Transformers that kids started to consume americanized crap again. Even Disney couldn't pull it off with ''Home on the Range'' people had to wait another 5 years for a good animated film to come out in the form of ''The Princess and the Frog'' and even then the traditional storytelling is yet to make a strong comeback. Kids have no tension whatsoever anymore, they don't even know what the thrill to sit through a movie actually feels like. Don is a breath of fresh air in a market that is dominated by political correctness and market display. ''The Land Before Time'' and ''The Secret of Nhim'' are two of the best animated movies I've ever seen. From a standpoint of view I don't think nothing can top Miyasaki's ''Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind'' but The Secret of Nihm is way up there. When ''The Princess and the Frog'' came out people all over the world jumped from their sits Disney relized the had unleashed a power greater than what they could handle. Someday a studio will have the guts to greenlight a movie like one of Don's films and it will be a major success.
@KRT6110 жыл бұрын
It's not the medium, it's how good the stories are. Executives pick which story is gonna get made. Disney executives made poor choices in the last few classical animated films. It's not because of computer animation being better. You are gonna tell me "Planes" is better than "The Lion King"? Please, story is everything.

They could have met their goal 2 times over in the first couple of days, but they decided to make the 15 minute pitch being kickstarted only available at the $75 tier and up.
