Sear on KZbin for Texas mile GT Ford 293. It beat any new cars on top speed. Plus this Ford is stock and old and it still kicks ass. It went 293.7 mph and it wanted to go over 300 mph in one mile nut there's no room. But the new FORD GT 2017 is WICKED

the #FordGT (40) is still in production. the first 4,038 examples produced between 2003 and '07 were the standard models. right now tuning shops are creating lots of gt40s. i assume there are around ~6,500 of them in the world (including hennessey, m2k models, gtx1 roadster, etc)

What are you talking about? The Ford GTs were made in 2005 and 2006 only. You were correct with the 4038 made with the last 11 taken apart for parts. The South African GT40 are continuation cars and NOT Ford GTs. Hennessey, Heffner, and the GTX1 are modified Ford GTs and they are not adding to the production numbers. The Superformance GT40s are made by the Shelby South African plant that claim they use about 90% era correct pieces/design so they are technically not GT40s or Ford GTs.

In my opinion the expected happened. Beceuse when you roll most important thing is torq and Ford has lots of it. But if they did it from standing start result would be much more different. And GT40 can do it with manual gearbox and imagine that GT40 has a double clucth gearbox. Probably would destroy the 12C.

10 year old car with mods that can be done in a garage in a day and it held up pretty well. These cars are so different though. The GT is among the last of the old school drivers cars. No nannies to hold your hand. Balls and skill drive the GT fast, not supercomputers

If you watch the video, it's all in the shift. The GT, being a standard stick shift with a clutch, was slower on the shift. Otherwise, the GT was making up ground faster than the McLaren between shifts. Also note the price difference between the cars, lol.

The modifications added to the Ford don't make that big of a difference and it's still a 9 year old car it has stock internals it doesn't even have full bolt-ons which is an intake, headers and exhaust so it's old with almost no modifications why are you hating on it? It gave the McLaren a run for it's money. I love McLaren don't get me wrong but that Ford is no joke. As a car enthusiast I respect all kind of cars except for ricers for sure. Finally maybe I own a Ford (Mustang RTR Spec2) but I'm selling it and getting A Porsche 911 Turbo or Dodge Viper or Corvette Zo6 or Nissan GT-R or Lamborghini Gallardo as you can see different cars and different cultures but isn't that what the car scene is all about? Trying new things and meeting new people stop hating on cars for their manufacturer or anything like that.
