@@TheCaptainSlappy I suppose they could cut the roots to gain room for the pipes but that will probably kill the tree within a few years.... or the root will grow back and squash the pipe again in 5-10 years.

@@rupe53 You would think by now, that they would design a "root repelling PVC" that wouldn't by accident kill all humans and fish, etc. For the life of me, I can't think of a natural chemical (say like Cedar oils) that you can impregnate and super lattice into PVC to make them go away. Surely there is such a thing...maybe all trees hate celery, radishes and cabbages or something...so one day, all pipes will be "Radish Coated". That would be hilarious if it worked. **EDIT** I was thinking...I wonder if something like the above would work, and for your older cast iron and clay stuff, you could just take one of Ollie sprayer heads, and run it thru the older lines and just coat the interiors (like a lacquer kind of coating), specifically the roofs of the pipes, where they usually get gobbered up. It's a thought. I didn't say it was a good thought, but it is one.

Good. I'm glad the weather is a bit more like the UK today, having watched so many of the other videos I was convinced Australia was almost perpetually sunny and dry. I don't think techniques for putting a pipe in the ground are really very different in most countries, so we must have these dislocates and breaks as well, I have some old clay pipes on my list to look at, especially where I removed a very large tree. Interesting video as always, no penetrator today 😜

After the many hours i've spent watching your channel (over and over again, lol) I really thought you were going to throw the gurney up that pipe and try to cut out as much debris as you could for the Kevin because of the water flow that was coming through.
