Jim is the man, using a tool like that in such a manner, that said, living in the jungle myself here and using a sledge hammer to break up rocks, using my flip flops, I totally get it. on at least 2 diff episodes in the past few years, you had mega roots like this that you had a very hard time getting cut. Ultimately you ended up putting the nozzles directly onto your main(3/8 or 1/2?) hose that goes to the mini reel. I remember at least one time where it worked like gangbusters. It was a pita for sure cause you can't control the flow easily, and now all your nozzles are screw on, so idk know how you could adapt it now. Wonder if you had a special reel you could keep at home for special occasions, like you could come back on another day when you find mega roots. Where you have like a 5/8 hose directly to the jetter, maybe made into 50 ft sections( say 250ft worth or so), where you could connect them together, until you have enough length to make it to the opening. Then you put on a stand alone valve(with a larger opening, less restrictive), then you put on another 50ft 5/8 and a special bad ass mega root cutter made for the 5/8" hose. Then you'll have 50ft to go into the pipe. If you need more, you add another 50ft section. Yeah not as easy without a reel, but like I said it would only be the last resort. Also you can charge double, or extra when you have mega roots and have to come back out, so it would pay for itself eventually. I am always redesigning tools and how I work(diesel/transit bus tech) over the last 30 yrs and things have changed. at 50 yrs old I try to work smarter instead of harder lol
