Every day I am learning something new from you! Not only about using AutoCAD but also about some architectural theories that I don't know. ( I have never studied architecture nor design in school so I am really new to this field, but it is something I want to do)This is really one of the best tutorials I have found on KZbin!

Edward, obviously if i was doing drainage for an upper floor, it would likely at some point run in the flooring. What is therefore the standard thickness of that floor.

Thanks a lot. I'm happy you're learning. The size of the building + amount of occupancies will be the basis to determine the size of the drainage system. So hotels and apartment would need larger manholes and septic tanks.

Hi Edward thank you for this wonderful channel it is really helpful as well as this lesson. I hope I won't be a pain if I may ask that you do a tutorial on a drainage system with a septic tank and soak away.

Do you have any detail drawing for the grease trap, trap gully basin and manhole to show how deep each should be below ground level and how high or low the pipes from the kitchen and the bathroom should be in each?

At the point where you said we shoulf xref the ground floor unto the structural, my pc keeps telling me that its going to cause problems and when i insist, the inserted xref comes without the walls..i mean the spaces for the walls are left

Normally a soak away pit would be dug for the toilet and the toilet drainage is different from the shower and kitchen. Was this style of drainage used because of the availability of the community sewer line?

Edward, I have been following your one bedroom videos and learning a lot. Thank You. I haven't sent you any questions lately because I am exploring different areas of your videos. For example, i am using AutoCAD MEP to create component drawings that are referenced to the one bedroom project. I used it to add my electricals symbols and connections in my electrical layout. Currently using it to do my drainage layout. I created a GTB in AutoCAD 3D and imported it into my drainage plan however I realize that the elevation is not correct. Basin bottom sits on the ground. I need the top covers instead to be at the ground level....problem..in properties the ability to change elevation does not appear....How do I resolve?
@TDVision_U
@TDVision_U 2 жыл бұрын
Man you are way ahead of the curb! But I'm excited about that. I'm happy you started to explore on your own. I'm not sure why your GTB does not have a elevation parameter. Maybe the base point of the GTB is at the bottom, try editing the object and moving it to the top? Or go to the "front-view wireframe" using the view-controls in the top left corner of the model space, and try moving the object down using the move command.
@Richardo7172
@Richardo7172 2 жыл бұрын
@@TDVision_U What i eventually did was in the original drawing i moved the top of the GTB to the zero line. For the benefit of all, if it (GTB) was 3feet (36") tall, i moved the top of the basin 36" down (-36"). Is the the correct way to do this......idk but it worked when i XREF it to my drainage layout.

I have a question but it’s not mainly on the video explanation. My question is, for the drawings of the drainage systems, is an architect responsible for putting those in his plan or is he to hand over the drawings to an engineer to draw the drainage systems before presentation of his project?
@TDVision_U
@TDVision_U 3 жыл бұрын
You are correct. You can have an engineer do the drainage plans as well as structural drawings.

Trying not to get ahead of myself however i want to know. Obviously Autocad MEP which you mention is for providing more details for the various disciplines..ok fine. Since this program is from the same Autodesk people, obviously you should be able to integrate the two...right?. Do you have a video of how this is done. Just asking....😎
@TDVision_U

Very good question. That requires a whole video for itself. Basically, you'll have to create a wall type with plaster on both sides, then assign material to the plaster.
