The drainage operation of the Tuanzhou embankment started on Tuesday following the closure of a 226-meter breach in the dike at Dongting Lake, China's second-largest freshwater lake in Hunan Province, on Monday night.

Good Job. First dike breach, thus allow Dongting lake to gain some flood catchment capacity. MoA must do survey and process Insurance payout for the dike breach to affected land or property owners. Agricultural Insurance and Catastrophic Insurance claims 😢

good job and congratulations to the repair crew for their efforts. this situation is similar to Hurricane Katrina in the US and even Hurricane Beryl today. because of extreme weather a repair crew must always be ready with equipment, rocks, gravel, sand etc.

The repair crew seems to have done a good job on repairing the breach showing the CCP can act responsibly if they wish. The first crew did a terrible job in trying to repair the breach by using Sand and Trucks instead of Bolders and Sandbags.

the first crew is local farmer, this crew is China Armed Police Hydropower Corps, responsible for flood rescue and disaster relief

@@fubob1849 There was quite a few trucks involved in the first attempt. The local farmer must be really rich to have all those Trucks. Then we got the Sand Dredgers in the water using sand/mud to try and plug the breach. I cannot imagine a local farmer owning that kind of machinery.
