Never ever block accesspoints! And always provide a detailed blueprint for where pipes and wires go! Those should be the laws of any build.

We had to replace a drain that was under a set of concrete steps and sidewalk last winter with three feet of snow on the ground and temps of -30 F! Talk about a nightmare. Even a jackhammer didn't work. The plumber wound up hiring a guy with a backhoe. Cost a fortune but we did get the drain replaced and it works beautifully

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. . . .put the little hair covers on your tub and shower drains to catch the hair and throw it away. Don't mess with any of your plumbing and keep easy access to it!!!

Not really a different choice for them. Also... why the f did the builder not provide an access panel for the bad? You can easily make an access panel in the side of the 'wall' for the bath in the tiles. You'll barely see it. Why did the builder not provide this? There's no way a homeowner or pumbler can access the trap under the bath.

Cheers from a fellow drain lover in New Orleans..I am a former NYC superintendent and I loved sitting in when the plumbers came in to clear the drains. which was often - since our buildings were all pre 1900 in downtown NY, and there was a lot of sediment build up inside the pipes over the decades. The BIG SNAKE was always trotted out. Only those who've been in the field..can understand.. And truly appreciate the thrill...
