i liked the pilot...it went in directions i did not predict or assumed which is rare for kids sitcoms or sitcoms in general...like no one could of predicted the direction this pilot goes in after the first 1/3rd...its bonkers how josh ends up fighting the bf and the girl falls back in love with him after he knocked out this innocent boy who got mistaken for her adultery...and drake helping josh was a nice capper....drake learned something felt guilt and helped his new step bro...accepting him as such...

The reason this show was a hit, is because of the chemistry between Josh Peck and Drake Bell. They had one dialogue on "The Amanda Show" and the producer noticed how great they both together on screen. In fact, there are so many episodes in this show that are *specifically* Drake and Josh locked/stuck somewhere and just tries to find a way out.

It's also interesting that Josh is Jewish and resembles Schneider (not literally) if you notice he usually has someone with this profile in some of the other shows that isnt a main character and isn't universally attractive to all members of cast or is bad with girls. I've seen this in Zoey 101, victorious and sam and cat. If Josh maintained his season 1 weight through to season s4, he'd resemble shnieder a bit more. Also the hairstyles they gave him. So that could be why. There was also that issue where one of the main characters in zoey 101 had to kiss someone who looked like shnieder. I always thought it was weird when there was a player/womaniser character on kids programming. Like the whole point of the player type is that he's popular with the ladies and enjoys all the sex that comes with it. He's not looking for long lasting relationships, that's why he always has a new woman in the next episode. But sex is never brought up cuz it's a kids tv show. So when these boys are after girls, they're not after sex at all. They just want normal monogamous girlfriends. They just go through a lot of them. For no good reason. I just think its funny that the boys sexually pursue women when there's no sex in that universe. These player types are often contrasted with a monogamous romantic lead. (In this case Josh) who will usually have one girl (Mindy) and Josh is sad a lot of the time because he doesn't have the charm with the ladies that Drake has. When really that jealously should be the other way around because Drake can't keep em but Josh ultimately does. It's fun to read into it.

When I was 13 and all the 90s kids started bragging about their crap, I was like, "let's give credit to the 2000s" But even growing up, I viewed most of those shows were stupid and for girls and the only ones I could get into were zack and cody and drake and Josh, but when I watched zack and cody, I noticed the same annoying things on it that I hated about the Disney shows at the time. Fun fact: Drake Bell was accused of some kind of crime,* so he ran away to Spain, changed his name to Drake Campana and started making Spanish pop music *I couldn’t find what crime he committed, there are a couple different variations floating around the internet

I will tell you, Child abuse, child endangerment, child kidnapping, crimes against children, domestic abuse, stealing identities, jumping bail, stealing vehicles, GBH, resisting arrest, stealing, not paying alimony, parking fines, sexting, dating minors, questionable behaviour, fleeing, found outside a school, skipping bail again, cross country....and he had 2 year probation because of lenient sentencing by his judge if he came clean.....now he is making every excuse under the sun...
