When she did the red carpet interview talking about how Drake texts her all the time, she had literally just turned 14. The directors of Stranger Things said that Drake wanted to meet the cast for a dinner event after the first season premiered on Netflix, given Drake’s immense fame, the young cast thought it would be a great opportunity to meet him since he could talk to them about being a young actor that experienced fame early on. Caleb McLaughlin was an aspiring rapper who wanted to get some early feedback from Drake. What actually occurred when Drake met the cast was the opposite of what they expected, given that he barely spent time with the entire crew. After being introduced to everyone, and talking to them in general terms, he literally decided to sit in a corner of the room and spend his entire night literally only talking to Millie Bobby Brown, exchanging contact information with her, then setting up another day when they could meet up again. I think the Drake stans put too much value on raw numbers when it comes to hiphop and fail to realize what those numbers actually mean. Drake has always had more fans than Kendrick but what they fail to realize is that a majority of Drake fans are very casual music fans meaning that they aren’t super invested into Drake but they fk with him bc he is popular. An artist like Kendrick is never going to have anywhere near as many casual fans as Drake just due to the kind of music he makes. So while he does have a smaller fanbase that fanbase is mostly core fans. This made Drake stans underestimate how easy it would be for Kendrick to expose things that the average hiphop fan knew, but stuff his casual fans might not have been paying attention to.
