If you look at his stats this moment 12 tds to 9 INTs he doesn't look special, but if you watch him play and know ball you'll see him make plays, throws, use his incredible speed, and never see him fold under pressure under a bottom 10 o-line and realize he's an amazing young qb. You don't see too many qbs let alone rookies making the throws Maye is throwing, and unlike Zappe and Mac's throws he doesn't have to run up to air a ball more than 30 yds, he can sling it 50-60 yds FROM THE POCKET with amazing accuracy under heavy pressure and receivers will have the ball right in their hands. Neither Mac nor Zappe could do that under pressure without throwing a pick or incompletion or having the receiver dive or jump up to get it. Also worth noting that he has thrown 10 tds to 10 different receivers, one being an o-lineman on a trick play in the endzone and a beautiful shovel pass last Sunday to DeMario Douglas. A big sign that a qb might be good in the future is that they can improvise on plays and throw to anyone on the team. We haven't seen a genuinely talented 1st rd qb since Bledsoe in NE and if we build around Maye and rebuild the defense the Pats just might become contenders in the near future.
