Billy Cundiff was a choke artist late in his career and then Baltimore got the most automatic kicker in NFL History. Justin only needs six or seven more years to be the greatest kicker in NFL history and I hate it. I'm a Steelers fan.

I guess it's the nature of the business, but Matt Flynn was a great player and I think showed a lot of class. Hopefully, his best days are yet ahead. His come-from-behind victory in Dallas was simply outstanding and never to be forgotten. I wish a few of his close games would have gone his way.

My concern (s) for him are: 1. MN OL "suspect"....in many regards, run & pass. 2. Injury potential; see #1 above. 3. Kevin O'C. Will he REALLY teach/take the time necessary for JJ to learn & develop? Not a given....Taken for granted cliche. 3. May get rushed into service before ready becoming the NFL norm. Not good 😐

Can't let that Kaep stray slide. He was NOT a bad QB. I'll stand on that. We all know exactly why Chip benched him and it shows why he should never get another sniff at a head coaching job in the NFL. He's a garbage person who tried to sabotage careers. Unfortunately, he was successful with one.

I’ve been watching the Giants for over 40 years. I actually even went to Phil Simms first start a giant stadium back in 1979 compared to a lot of other franchises, the Giants have had some pretty good fortune at the QB position over that time. The worst stretch was from 1994 to 1998 when we had to suffer through Dave Brown, Danny, Kanell, andKent Graham. The major difference during that time was that we had some really solid defenses. The situation feels much worse now, and rightfully so because from the end of the Jerry Reese into the Gettleman era, the franchises foundation deteriorated so much that by 2021 we had hit rock bottom. I agree that trading for a franchise quarterback is going to be very difficult. I think that the best the Giants can hope for is to find some sort of Kerry Collins type bridge quarterback. Obviously, this is not ideal, but it might be what we’re looking at in the near future.

Said he did all that for his mama, just to spit on and punch his fiancé head into a handrail on an elevator, drug her out, dropped her face first on the ground and tried to kick her awake. Sound lik the first time he hit or spit on her or first time beating any woman? Think not. Should try that spit and hook on a man in the prison shower who's stronger than him by as much as he was stronger than his wife. Stop trying to paint this as a once in lifetime incidence/ mistake/ mischaracterization. I mean, am I really going to respect a supposed man who spits and beats his own woman just because he can catch a ball and run fast? 🧐

Great insight onto how the qb can effect the o line and wrs jones getting hurt last year was a big eye opener the personal and coaches keeps changing but there’s been one constant these past 6 years the qb. I even remember daboll having a quote after one of the bad early games I believe it was Seattle where he said something like sometimes sacks aren’t always on the o line. Also I may be crazy but if someone has to get fired for a bad season this year why can’t it be Schoen? Arguably a bottom 10 roster in the nfl and when you look at the impact all pro caliber players they are from Gettleman along with the qb they are now stuck with. At least daboll won coach of the year I see real differences in how the team plays, competes and strategizes on gamedays Daball may not be perfect but he’s done a good job in my opinion and he’s arguably one of the reasons the giants couldn’t get maye coaching so good down the stretch didn’t allow team to give up. If ownership can look at the roster and think the coach is the main issue then it’ll be another 5 to 10 years of bad to mediocre football
@miketoonice
@miketoonice 11 күн бұрын
I totally agree but thats just how it works. The Head Coach usually goes before the GM, or at the same time. And I do think Daboll being good at his job cost us Drake Maye. Blessing and a curse

Mike I disagree with your analysis of the Giants not drafting a QB. They didn't think any of the QBs still on the board at 6 were their guy so they didn't force a QB pick. In 2019, Gettleman forced the pick which put us in the mess we are in now. Forcing another QB pick likely would have resulted in a similar situation and it kind of sounds like you are saying the Giants should have forced a QB pick? Just because you don't currently have a plan at QB long-term doesn't mean you should force a pick in the draft. You will fail with that approach 9.999/10 times.

I just liked McCarthy more than most Giant fans, that's really the disconnect. I just hope QB is figured out next offseason cause they need it
@youtube_al233
@youtube_al233 12 күн бұрын
@@miketoonice Ahh that makes more sense. I think saying you think the Giants should have taken JJ is a better critique than just saying more broadly the Giants should have taken a QB. The way you phrased it, it wasn't clear that you thought any of the QBs that were there were worth the pick. It seemed like you were saying they should have just taken a QB just for the sake of taking one. Agree that Giants need a QB though. Without a real starting QB, we will never have a more of a ceiling than wild card round at best. With that said though, and I think most Giants fans will disagree with me here, if for whatever reason we can't draft a QB next year (i.e. not picking high enough) and there is no good QB options via trade of free agency we still shouldn't reach. I'd rather stay in QB purgatory for a year or two longer rather than draft a lower ceiling QB and be locked into that low ceiling for 4 years only to be back in the same spot. Staying in QB purgatory might be annoying but at some point,: 1)some team that doesn't need a QB will be picking high enough and will be willing to trade back 2) the Giants will pick high enough themselves to get the QB they want 3) there will be a really loaded QB class But you really just can't force a QB pick. To that end, I disagree where you said there is never a perfect prospect so the Giants will need to take a QB eventually. I don't think there's ever been a QB that people thought was for the most part flawless. The NFL has seen enough QB busts to know that. I don't think this is a situation where perfection was the enemy of good enough. I don't think the Giants thought any of the QBs were good enough. But certainly if they see a QB with enough upside they will pull the trigger. they did that with Josh Allen in Buffalo and it seems like they tried doing that with Drake Maye.

Jones was the 2nd best QB prospect in the 2019 draft, that's why they took him at 6. Between 6 & 17 you had like 4 teams that needed QB & they were worried he wouldn't be there. Doubt the Giants were the only team to identify that Jones was better than Haskins & Lock. Problem is that was a 1 QB draft..and that QB went 1st overall.

We will win 2-3 games which may be beneficial. But I can also see us doing that typically Giants thing where we stink, then pull off a few wins to ruin the tank and give bozos false hope, then stink again. We will probably beat Washington and Seattle let’s say for the first 8 weeks to get to 2-6. Then we will go on a 3 game win streak against the Commanders, Panthers, and Buccaneers to bring us up to 5-6. The fan base will go crazy. Then won’t win for the rest of the year going 5-12. It’s the Giants way
